Ninja Gaiden II

Its all about the timing so I really cant give much advice except to play it.

Although for the rocket guys have you tried throwing some incindiery shurikens?

1 should stun them and 1 more should kill them (I've not got that far yet so I've no clue whether it will work or not)

I give up on this game, it just feels like the game is trying to kill you at times. I consider myself a pretty good gamer, I never had any problems completing DMC4 but the fact that I can't do the easiest game mode on this game shows how badly the game is designed. Just started Chapter 8, right at the beginning when you get to the main square you get attacked by three robots.

There machine guns seem to stun you so you can't move, attack or do anything
All there attacks seem to damage you, EVEN IF YOU'RE BLOCKING
They seem to track you even if you are jumping and dashing around like a looney
There are rocket guys who are firing at you, again they damage you even when you are blocking

I just have no idea what to do, blocking and dodging seems to be utterly useless in this game, there seems to be no way of telling what attacks are blockable and what aren't, and somehow enemies seem to track you even when you're dodging, especially with ranged attacks.

Does anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong? It feels a shame to trade it in half finished :(

i got stuck at chapter 8 too, when you activate the robots, there is an invisible threshold that the robots wont seem to pass if you head back the way you came, i think its right by a burnt out tank --i hid there and took the robots out one by one..

oh and incendary shuriken for the rocket men :)

I used Fire ninpo, maxed out it targets multiple enemies, after doing that a few times to take out the rocket people (using dash jump to run around quickly without being hurt) taking down the robots shouldn't be too difficult with a maxed out Scythe.

Just completed the first chapter, lovely and smooth gameplay.
Very impressed so far :).

It's very smooth playing on Acolyte, but it seems Warrior difficulty or anything higher and theres some major frame rate issues.

I played through first time on Acolyte and, like, was impressed by how smooth it ran - now that am playing through on warrior, there have been many slow-downs due to number of enemies on screen.

Even on Acolyte i experienced two occasions where the game turned in to an absolute slide show. On Chapter 10 it's the worst, i was positive my 360 was going to crash when it just got slower and slower :D

http://youtube.com/watch?v=TtqMKp_NYUM - I had it slower than this as i was dealing with the enemies as fast as this guy did

Great game still :)

im thinking about buying this, was a huge fan of NG1 apart from the learning curve in it.

should i be thinking or should i be buying?

ags

For me it was a rental and it was the reason i played it through on Acolyte. I didn't wanna keep it rented too long potentially struggling with Warrior mode. I enjoyed the game but after completing it i was thankful i rented it as i could tell i'd never return to it.

If you can rent it, i'd do that but if your really a HUGE fan, then buy it by all means :)

I was watching my friend play it the other day (before he traded it in) and had a go trying to kill a nasty boss (the third?) - and it seemed to me just a clone of Devil May Cry (I believe it's made by the same people, so I guess that'd make a little sense) with different characters and a few tweaks? That's why I didn't buy it - as much as I love DMC, I didn't want to play it again, lol.

Is this the case?

Nah, both games certainly ain't made by the same people. DMC is a Capcom Chapter 4 game and Ninja Gaiden is Team Ninja but they are certainly similar brawler games.

I have never followed the DMC games as i never had a PS2, tried 4 on the 360 and i found it rather hard :o

So i prefer the Ninja Gaiden series as i followed them from the XBox 1.......No no, not the NES version back in 19 canteen :p

DMC and NG feel like very different games. I've enjoyed both but currently NG2 has the edge despite me being crap at it :D
Stuck on the Chapter 2 end boss, I know what I need to do, it's just beating the bloody thing :p Great sense of satisfaction to the game though.
