Ninja Gaiden II

I agree and think its not as good as the first. Health seems to be less tactical now if regains after each fight, I find I can go through a chapter without using any exilirs which removes that level of danger every fight had on NG1. I also find the framerate terrable, it slowed down to about 15fps on chapter 2 when there weren't even any npcs around and often dips mid fight.

Overall I'm still having fun with it though.

I'm playing Acolyte and it didn't really get hard until about Chapter 8, but even then it was only in certain places with certain mobs. Some of the bosses especially the ones on Chapter 12 can be very difficult firstly because of the RIDICULOUSLY CRAPPY POOR PIECE OF **** CAMERA, and secondly because their attack patterns are entirely random and often, they will act in a certain way in which it is very difficult(Or sometimes impossible depending on your items) to kill them, and so the only way to really kill them is purely by luck, them performing certain moves or acting in a certain way which allows you to kill them.

One boss on Chapter 12 for example, some tries I would just get raped to hell because of the way he happened to act on that attempt, and on other tries his actions would be more in my favour so I could literally oblitterate him. Pretty stupid really. I often found myself simply dying on purpose so I could have another attempt where his actions might be more favourable.

As for the framerate it seems fine for me 99% of the time, feels like a constant 60 fps. I've only had a few instances of noticeable slowdown and I've almost completed the game. Also this is coming from someone who pretty much thinks anything below 60fps isn't very good, not unplayable but unpleasant.

I'm pretty sensitive to the fps drop too, not noticed anything bad at all. I'm playing it on a 17 inch monitor at 1280x1024 though so I wouldn't be running at top resolution from the console?

i had a few goes of this yesterday....i felt ninja gaiden on the ps3 was better....only played through the demo of that but it seemed more fun and looked better or am i just confused on the last part?

Traded GTA 4 in for this yesterday. Glad I did. Am actually having fun with this.

It is a little easy though. I found the first one a little hard at times, sometimes frustratingly so, but rewarding. This its actually quite hard to die, but I am only on chapter 3. They should have had the next level up of diffuculty enabled by default.

Still good fun though and have noticed no slow-down yet.

Reading the gamespot review, it says not as good as Sigma or NGB, so i dont think ill be bothering as i already have sigma and although its good, i dont rate it high enough to spend £40 on more of the same but not as good.

still cant do this chapter 2 boss
annoyin the hell out of me now

I just held block (LT) and pushed the left thumbstick in any direction just as he was coming towards me to attack. You may need to do it a few times before you get your chance to attack him and when you do, only hit him about 5 times and retreat. He still pushed my health down and down but hopefully you have various health restoring items though to help you.

There's also a couple of videos on Youtube showing methods. Don't wanna post links incase people don't wanna see :D

Just managed to beat the chapter 3 boss, stupid crappiest boss design I've ever played against. Im loving the general levels but at the moment DMC 4's bosses are much more fun.

Christ im getting so fed up with the crappy boss design in this game. The camera is making things ridiculously hard. Now im up against some big blind ape thing who can still hit me with rocks even when im jumping round like a loony. Then when i go anywhere near him he does some massive area of attack thing that just wipes out my health even if im blocking. Oh and then theres the attack where he picks you up and slams you around which seems unavoidable and takes of half your health. And the unblockable mouth roar that hits me EVEN WHEN IM BETWEEN HIS LEGS. Did they even playtest these boss fights? they are glitchy beyond belief.

can someone explain to me what this game is like, taking into account I have no idea what it is, yet have heard many OCUk'ers rave about it for ages

ta

hmm, I'd say its a Devil May Cry type, But a million times better. You control a kick ass Ninja called Ryu. Story is always great, Action always great, Bad guys always great, Levels always great, Combos always great.

Basically. It's pretty great

See my version would go

hmm, I'd say its a Devil May Cry type, a little bit better though. You control a kick ass Ninja called Ryu. Story is boring and as original as ever, stopping something from ending the world, Action great when the pathetic camera doesnt ruin it, Bad guys are pretty cool except not much variety other than in the level itself, you'll fight 3 types of enemy per level tops, Average level design, sometimes because of the camera and the game mechanics themselves it doesnt really lend itself well, Combos require a lot of practise to get good at, until then, prepare to button mash.

Basically. It's not as good as previous versions

Id say, like DMC except general combat is much better, far more fluid. Very visceral. Story as crap as all these games, camera sucks slightly more than DMC's camera. Bosses are rubbish, game is very glitchy. Generally its fun when its not frustrating.
