Ninja Gaiden II

Christ im getting so fed up with the crappy boss design in this game. The camera is making things ridiculously hard. Now im up against some big blind ape thing who can still hit me with rocks even when im jumping round like a loony. Then when i go anywhere near him he does some massive area of attack thing that just wipes out my health even if im blocking. Oh and then theres the attack where he picks you up and slams you around which seems unavoidable and takes of half your health. And the unblockable mouth roar that hits me EVEN WHEN IM BETWEEN HIS LEGS. Did they even playtest these boss fights? they are glitchy beyond belief.

lol dude, that's the easiest boss in the game. Just run away as far as you can, shoot him in the face with arrows, rinse and repeat. Use the dash then jump tactic to move away from him faster.

Maybe its just mine with the FPS drops, my 360 seems to be having problems loading, the disc keeps stopping spinning and the loading sign just sits there, pretty frustrating when I'm between save points.

I found the blind giant easy, just dodge between his legs, do a combo, dodge away, repeat.

My god. At a certain stairwell in chapter 10 i had the most horrible slowdown ever, took minuites to kill all the enemies. I ahve noticed it before but that was the only time it had properly bothered me.

heh yeah I remember that, but it was a very strange type of slowdown, it didn't seem like low FPS, it actually looked more like slow motion. I did that blades ninpo right in the middle of all the guys and all you could see was a load of limbs flying up in the air in slow-mo. Awesome :D

Chapter 2 boss was a right pain in the arse haha, beat him finally after god knows how many tries, reloaded last save, upgraded staff and sword, took a little time to get used to his attacks, but had him beat good and proper ;)

I did the same... three or four times, also the lunar staff was let loose at that point. What it is though is when the slowdown occours it's actualy the game code slowing down so it doesn't get juttery.

The camera is worse than devil may cry? god no..at least you can actually move the damn camera. So many jumping bits in devil may cry where you cant even SEE the platform you're jumping to..or if there even is a platform there.

I've had some slowdown now..nothing too bad. Enjoying it a lot so far :)

bought this on friday but not had chance to play it yet as ive got my kids for the weekend, roll on 5 o clock when i drop em off, gonna pull an all nighter :D cant wait

Think I'm on the last boss now, he's pretty difficult, and I'm playing Acolyte. I seriously don't want to know how difficult he would be on the hardest setting. It's a very long fight, I've only managed to get him down to about 60% HP and just that lasted god damn ages. I reckon the full fight will last at least 35 mins, perhaps more.

The thing is also I've basically had to fight 3 bosses in a row now, meaning even though I've had access to a shop, I just don't have the currency to buy healing items because I've used it all to buy healing items for the other bosses and there's been so little enemies inbetween for me to gather currency.

Gave up in the end, will try again later, but it's just too stressful and it takes too long.

Also people have commented that the graphics aren't that great, well that is true for some of the game, the environments are very poor, basicaly last gen, but once you get to about chapter 11 and upwards the environments look a lot better, definitely next gen.

I'm on the end boss now (lost count of how many there were in a row with no shops). I just watched him explode me in seconds and gave up last night, the one i think you're on i tried about 3 times without being able to do any damage against, like not a scratch against him for so long.

It'll be another ninja gaiden black thing where i can't beat the last bit of the game on hard difficulty again. But i have like 100k essence at that point in the game that i was just unleashing UTs and just using the drops to charge another UT... with the windmill thingie which is the best thing since sliced bread.

Explode you? You mean the skulls he spits out? If you're quick with the arrows he won't be able to spit any skulls, when you hit him with an arrow he stops the attack he's currently doing and spits out some blood stuff which can be avoided fairly easily. If he does manage to release some skulls then use the phoenix ninpo and they will kill all the skulls for you.

I am on the big armadillo like boss that spits fire and shoots burning rocks out, and have tried at least 2 dozen times now. Have managed to kill him twice, but then he explodes and kills me and I have been unable to run away or anything. Help!

Use a ninpo which mades you immune to damage just before he explodes. Most of them make you immune to damage but some don't such as the phoenix one.

As its about to explode, block.

As its about to explode, block.

lol, that seriously works?

I just completed the game, turns out the tactic I was using was slightly incorrect on the first stage of the last boss. He's actually pretty easy because he was a clear tactic once you figure it out, much easier than some of the other bosses in the game which have no clear tactic, they're just like the normal mobs in the game except with some crazy spells, more health and damage. You block and dodge their attacks, then attack them, and they just attack you whilst you're attacking them, it's stupid. Then there's the randomness of their actions and spells which doesn't help, one attempt can be a piece of cake whilst another can be near impossible purely because of the way they happen to act on that attempt.

I do hope it require more time to think on higher difficulties, or it may just be higher risk depending on your actions for other bosses. But so far i had beaten *** one you were stuck on, then only had a single attempt on the one after that (praying there isn't another). But atm i'm trying to beat the priest guy before without using so many potions and what not.

Anyone noticed how annoyingly inconsistent this can be? I know randomness is great but, i'm on the bit where kebab was having trouble with archers, the first time round it was fine killed them all started to go across the wire and there was a bleeding archer at the bottom on the ground I couldnt get unless I got across and he kept knocking me off!

So...I restart, now theres loads of these flying things everywhere! Where were they the first time round?!!
