No new Mario Kart? :(

Not even for the new Switch (assuming it is real)?

Nope. The team that develop the series are working on other projects. Even if they started developing it now the game would be 3 years away from release.

I wouldn’t expect a Mario Kart until the successor to the switch (not a pro or refresh model).

:(:eek::(

Thanks for the info.

Mario Kart 8 is still charting all over the world it's insane how it just keeps on going. There will be a sequel though, one day.
We are completely bored of it. We played the hell out of in on the Wii U. Then again on the Switch, hardly gets played now and when it does it’s a few cups trying to 3 star them and that’s it. Before we could play it for hours and hours when it was fresh.

I don't play it anymore either. I have over 500 hours on it. Played it online to death. Was great fun at the time.

I just picked up one of these so I can play with my son, it's used and 2nd hand but working.
Also ordered a few extras for it and can't wait for us to play together, really excited about that.

Hi all. Many thanks for the suggestions to send my joy con back. I have now received it back working great. Cheers!!!

It was out of warranty and I wasn't charged if anybody is wondering :)

Nintendo have realised that they can pretty much do the square route of FA and still make billions from the Switch so that has become their method of operating.

The are basically content to chuck out the odd first party IP every year of massively varying quality and scope and then throw a load of re-releases out.

When is Metroid, where is the new Pikmin, where is Bayonetta, where is the next Mario core game, where is the next Mario Kart.

Mario Party was astoundingly lazy and they haven't added anything to what was a threadbare game to start with. Pokemon was a laxy cash-in (as usual at this point to be fair)

We haven't had a new Mario Kart for over 6 years.

I have completely lost interest in the Switch for about the last year and I really resent the number of straight up re-releases of old games at £40 or more sometimes.

Yea. I have been very disappointed by the lack of first party games (which is why I bought the Switch). Why don’t they just outsource their IP’s?

I wish I'd sold my Switch when the prices were silly during lockdown. I've barely touched it all year. And Pikmin 3 aside, there's nothing announced for the console that I'm particularly interested in. Really surprised by how lean the release schedule on Switch has been this year compared to other platforms.

Surprised there's no mention of the Mario 35th anniversary video that was popped up on the Nintendo YT, the main one i'm excited for is this:

Here's the full Nintendo Direct:

Cannot wait to play Super Mario 3D All Stars! What a time to own a Switch :)

Super Mario 3D All Stars with Sunshine in widescreen :D Pity they didn't do the same for 64 but I will still be getting this on release. Just over 2 weeks away as well :)

Wonder why they didn't include SM: Galaxy 2 in the 3D collection? Too large to fit on a single cart?

Either way, I'm probably going to have to get that.
