*** Nintendo Switch ***

What's the best Mario Kart to play and can we do battles with the supplied controllers or would I need to buy another controller?

You can play with the little pads, so two from the supplied. MK8 is great, it's the only one too. Apart from the old ones available in the retro market bit.

I'm really hoping they pull something out of the bag for later in the year but I'm not holding my breath. Nintendo have printed money with the Switch with a minimum of effort so I don't see why they would worry too much about their launch schedule.

I imagine they’re being held back as a showcase for the new Switch.

I had a joycon charge issue, still need to get it sent off to be fixed. Not super urgent as I had another set so it's been sat waiting for me to get round to it.

No drift yet but I'm only a year in. I know it'll come one day but for now I'm happy.

You heathen, I only play Sonic on my Sega consoles!

Sonic Mania is great however. Well worth a buy.

Thanks fellas. I grabbed a copy from Amazon, and I must say I'm pretty impressed! Sonic has always been a 2D platformer for me and it seems to be a mixture of Sonic 1/2. Level 1 is Green Hill Zone (Sonic 1) and level 2 is Chemical Plant Zone (Sonic 2). The special stage is new to me though, looks like a racetrack. That's as much of the game I've seen so far. The music is a nice touch too, with different arrangements of the same tune on each act within the level.

Got Pokemon Snap coming tomorrow - looking forward to the chilled out gameplay. Anyone else going to check this out?
Mario Golf in June and Skyward Sword in July. Good little triplet of games coming.

Nothing even remotely interesting for me there.

See I think I'm interested in Snap, but understand that it's mostly nostalgia tempting me. Decided not to preorder as I didn't need the tat and I'd wait for reviews to see if it would actually hold my attention, plus a small price drop if such a thing exists on a Nintendo/Pokémon game.

Never played Skyward Sword so that'll be a purchase for me and to be honest, I quite fancy the golf so long as it's not forced motion controls.

I do however have a backlog already so I'll need to find some time to clear through that before I buy anything more. Currently though I'm only playing Hades.

I couldn't deal with Skyward Sword control system. Never play it again after 30mins.

The golden Wii Motion Plus I got with it was a nice bonus.

Skyward Sword is one of the worst Zelda games.

It might be - but it might not be...
I thought Wind waker was rubbish. I didn't much like Twilight Princess. Loved Ocarina and Majoras mask. BOTW is the superior title in the series in my opinion, but many found it dull. a lot of the complaints levelled at Skyward Sword was the control scheme.

See I really enjoy Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. BOTW is my least favourite.

The progression and half baked ideas were the worst parts, well above the control scheme issues. This is one of the few times most people agree on it being a bad entry in the series.

If you disliked Twilight Princess you'll hate this one.
