*** Nintendo Switch ***

Do it, I double dare you. I licked the solid plastic back

Which tastes of nothing. Real men lick the labels :)

Seems that its entirely hit and miss as to whether you get your switch from Nintendo today. Some people have them, other people are being told by Nintendo that they will all arrive today via RM and then there are a lot of people that have spoken to RM themselves and RM have confirmed they have been posted by a 48 hour service.

I will be pushing for some sort of compensation from Nintendo if it doesn't arrive today. Inexcusable.

Framerate dives in Zelda when played at 1080p (900p) on the TV, Not unplayable but very frequent and very noticeable. The left joycon losing signal is awful, frequent and very apparent in my modest sized Iiving room.

The game itself is beautiful considering the hardware it's running on. UI and the console itself it so impressive.

The joycon issue is unbelievable, how can they miss this? Have they not tested the hardware at all?

Tis bad that the industry is now so paranoid about stuff turning up early that they're willing to risk letting the customer down. I miss the days when stuff got posted as soon as stock arrived.

I thought they had fixed this with the day one update?

Its frankly embarrassing. Complete reviews for the console have been out for a few days and partial thoughts on it have been about for over a week. None of it is secret.

The biggest kick in the teeth is that they have simply chosen to do this to save a few quid on each pre-order. RM haven't cocked up, Nintendo have just decided to cheap out with 48 hour delivery.

The frame drops are a concern especially with it being a first party title. The joycon issue is inexcusable frankly.

My first few hours of play on the TV have been plagued with Link standing still despite me pressing the left stick or continuing to run in a direction for a few seconds without any input.

I'm perched right on the edge of my sofa in an attempt to mitigate the problems by reducing the distance between the joycon and the console. I'm about 7' away from the console and nothing is in between causing an obstruction.

Notched TV output down to 720p and the game looks a bit more jagged but it's framerate is rock solid. It's far from unplayable in 900p and looks beautiful but it's definitley noticeable.

I'm gunna try to give the system a reboot and see if it irons the framerate issues out. Nothing I can do to fix the joycon bar sitting crossed legged in front of the TV like a child.

All aboard the hype train for Zelda! Re-ordered since cancelling my pre-order... paid for Saturday develivery but now with an 'awaiting stock pick' status and saying it won't get dispatched until monday? That's a bit crap as they say it'll get there next day Saturday if you order before 9pm - they should have the decency to tell you if it's in stock or it isn't. Other products that are out of stock can't be ordered, so I'll be disappointed if it doesn't turn up... not the end of the world, mind, I'm just being a grump and don't want the hassle of getting a refund for my premium postage :p

According to reddit after updating, attach the joycons and reboot. Apparently that helps with the problem.

Just go to Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda/Argos and get one after work. From what I can gather, high street sales haven't been that strong today. Finding stock isn't hard.

My place got 10 consoles in. 8 left as of 1pm. 3 out of 7 copies of Zelda sold.

I have called pretty much all of them around my area. none of them have seen any stock of any kind today.

After a reboot the framerate has stabilised considerably. Thankfully.

Sat literally 2' closer to the console and signal issues haven't arose. Think a pro controller is a must if only to avoid connectivity issues. The joycons aren't that bad in the cradle for those with any concerns.

Seriously impressed by this tiny bit of kit and what it's able to kick out on a 4k screen. Money well spent so far.

For the price of a smartphone(include Zelda SE and pad) this looks like a serous bargain, handheld aspect taking into account.
