*** Nintendo Switch ***

I forgot I had bought Splatoon! Picked it up at the point I realised I was having Joycon and Wifi issues and never got into it, replacement Switch arrived yesterday (with working Joycons!) and a much better Wifi Signal so will need to try it again!
I got it on release but due to Zelda I barely touched it. Then in the 4 weeks between finishing Zelda and Mario coming out I stuck about 20 hours into Splatoon 2 and honestly it's a riot :D

The initial grind to get to ranked matches gets a bit long in the tooth (especially once you have played ranked mathes) but the buzz from it is fantastic. It really is addictive. It's going to be a good fallback game between the big RPGs :)

I'm now at 265 hours in the game. I'm taking a break from it now though to play some other things and I'll go back once some more weapons and levels are released.

I got to 115 hours in Splatoon 2 and sold it on. I loved what I played of it but I got the the point where I felt I was done with it.

That's a lot of time for any game, and I can completely see why someone would have their fill after that much time.

Rocket League is a weird game. The cross play with XBox and PC means that I'm playing against some very experienced players and there doesn't seem to be any skill based match making in the game at all.

All of the games so far have been in the region of 10-0 stomps one way or the other except for one game that was 1-0.

I forgot about the cross play, I've had the same where most games have been drubbings, I guess the few close ones are less experienced players. Wow be good to be able to filter to just Switch players for now as I get up to speed!

I do occasionally wish I had kept it because I miss playing Salmon Run! If there's a lull in Nintendo 2018 schedule I might buy it in there somewhere to check out the new content.

I am over 30 hours into Odyssey and for MP I'm not done with MK8D as it's still a lot of fun for my nightly MP fix.

I need to check where but apparently you can turn cross-play off, I might do that while I get better... rather that than getting drubbed 11-0 every time!

You can turn it off in the settings. Once you get though the first 10 placement matches you should be matched against people with generally the same skill.

That doesn't help. The problem is also that many of the Switch players have already played hundreds of hours and are now double/triple/quadruple dipping on the first portable release of the game.

There is crossplay with Xbox PC & Switch but no PS4 as far as I know.

Have to say to me, it looks great! (with no previous experience of the game) Frame rate looks excellent.

You can't party up though with players on other platforms so wondered if they were adding the ability to do so.

are you playing in ranked games? that should certainly match you against your skill level

Woo!

So many game releases right now!

Not sure if this will benefit anyone here, but currently Sainsbury's are doubling up their nectar points, so £20 in points gives you a £40 voucher (you can only use one voucher per transaction. Managed to grab a pro controller and a set of joy-cons today for the delightful sum of £55 (with £80 worth of vouchers)

Worth checking out your balance to see what you have

I finally printed and installed my 3D printed portable dock.

Now it glows in the dark, doesn't scratch my screen and is portable without the risk if bending it in transit!
