*** Nintendo Switch ***

Gotta love my missus, she came home plastered last night from her Xmas do and let slip that Im getting a switch for Xmas :D:D:D

Have spent a very enjoyable day reading reviews and catching up on the latest news - its going to be a long wait now until Xmas day...

Skyrim seems to be getting a lot of love in this thread.
I have never played it, and I'm torn between Skyrim and X2 for my Christmas time sink.

After completing SteamWorld dig 2 (awesome game) I picked up Axiom Verge, and it's my first regret purchase on the switch, totally not my cup of tea.

If your more interested in the story I would say xc2 as it's brilliant , or just get both :D think I'm going to pick Skyrim up at some point over Christmas

To be honest, if you've never played Skyrim it's definitely a game you need to play. Just get both :D

Does Skyrim have a beginning middle and end, like a story quest you can follow than at the end, it rolls the credits?
I'm after a good story, and if I cry it's money well spent :)
The last game to really bring me to tears was Panzer Dragoon Saga on the Sega Saturn, game of my lifetime that gem was. (Still sitting as new on my shelf, check what they fetch on Ebay now)
The pinnacle of console gaming for me.

Hoping to find some equal experiences on the switch.

Well the story trailer on the E-Shop got me interested, I'm all for a soppy love story :) Does it use the rumble much during combat?
Not really noticed the rumble as I'm always too busy concentrating on the timing as combat is pretty deep when you get into it ... the story though even though I'm only at chapter 3 it's really gripping! If you like a story it'll be right up your street:D

Just got Skyrim, as I want to experience xc2 on the tv as it's gorgeous and the cut scenes are immense so will play Skyrim when in handheld as I've read it runs really well, and xc2 suffers in big areas with the resolution

.

There is a central story so to speak, but that's not the game in my opinion. It's the hundreds of other mini stories and tales that happen throughout it that you can be a part of.

I am 30 hours or so in now to the switch version and I am still questing around one of the opening cities (whiterun).

I have a plan in my head on what I want to do but I end up fumbling into another story that needs my involvement and there you go....

As said above, Skyrim does have a main quest but by far the main part of the game is the side quests, dungeons and roaming around the world yourself. I'm not sure about the story in Xenoblade, but I assume it's better than the 'main' storyline in Skyrim.

Still unsure of my next purchase. But hopefully there will be a Nintendo Direct in January which should give us an idea of some upcoming titles.

If not, Stardew Valley is still waving at me!
