*** Nintendo Switch ***

It's the perfect portable game.

Amen to that.....I have plugged over 80 hours so far into the switch version.

It would be more but Darkest Dungeon has been taking some of my time recently.

Doom with the gyro maybe worth a purchase.......must resist...

I've been playing Darkest Dungeon a lot recently. It didn't click straight away but once I got into it (the controls are a bit fiddly at first) it is so addictive. Brutal and brilliant game.

I am glad you said that because I have also found the controls tricky. Not the dungeon crawling but the team management stuff.

Great game though, I played it a little on the PC when it first came out, but I am playing it extensively on the switch.

I play it mostly at lunch time and on my commute home. Sometimes I'll just play it on the sofa while my wife reads. The Switch has totally transformed how I play games and I am finding that I am playing more than ever, just at different times.

Damascus Gear: Operation Tokyo Coming to Switch on March 1

Here is an overview of the game:

In the year 2042, the genius scientist Dr. Yui Rich Atsuga unveiled her greatest invention. After that, the world was never the same.

[GEAR System]

This was the name given to the groundbreaking power system that allowed vehicles to surpass all prior speed and mobility limitations. Scientists around the world scrambled to utilize the highly advanced technology for themselves. With the new system, they built pilotable humanoid robots. These bipedal walking robots, once a distant dream, could outspeed ordinary vehicles. They possessed greater agility than humans, thanks to balancers utilizing the system, and a race to build the best units had begun. These robots were known as [GEAR], derived from the name of the system that unlocked their potential.

…However, Dr. Atsuga’s invention would ultimately lead to humanity’s extinction.

The year is now 2097.

The [GEAR] turn on their human masters. Within two weeks, 80% of the world’s population is annihilated. The remnants of humanity have been forced to live underground.

In order to fight these rogue machines, mankind turns once again to the [GEAR System]. The fate of humanity rests on the upcoming war to recapture the surface. Can the technology that destroyed their civilization be the very thing that gives it a second chance?

Key Features:

  • Take part in over 50 pulse-pounding missions in a variety of urban environments
  • Upgrade and customize your GEAR with 500+ items to best suit your combat style
  • Salvage special parts and weapons from defeated enemies, like machine guns, grenade launchers, and laser cannons
  • Available DLC includes new missions and new Armor and Weapon parts for further customization

Picked this up after reading this and have been playing it for hours!

Picked up a Switch last night with Zelda and Mario Kart. Blown away with it tbh, such a quality device. Shame nowhere in town had a physical copy of Mario Odyessy. Buying a digital download for physical prices in a bricks and mortar shop? Madness

It's for my daughter's birthday but I'm putting in plenty of testing time until then :p

Picked up a few games last week, sadly a couple of misses for me.

Dandara - some of the most awkward controls and poor level design I've come across. I hate games where you have no way to avoid damage and this game throws cheap cr*p like that at you in spades. The story is almost non-existent and what little there is makes no sense and adds nothing. I'm amazed it reviewed so well in some places.

Nine Parchments - this is okay in multiplayer but it's very shallow with little by the way of variety. The single player is a waste of time due to how the resurrection works and the fact you need to cover every spell element in your party or enemies are absolute bullet sponges.

Darkest Dungeon - thank goodness I picked up this beauty, never got around to it on Steam and it's perfect on the Switch :)

Collectively my wife and I have thrown in around 40 hours on Stardew Valley already :o

Holy crap this game is addictive!

Played it on the PC its fun with friends, but the switch version does not have voice chat its also not a solid 30 fps...
