*** Nintendo Switch ***

You'll love it. I know that you're into precise nails platformers like smb and slime-san this is giving me the same vibe but it's got some really different ideas.
It looks right up my street, but I still have games I've bought but not played (thanks splatoon) so I'm trying to hold it for a discount.

Redeemed all my cartridge points this morning. Generally 50 points per game though BoTW netted me 60 and Bayonetta 2 was 40. So I now have 450 points which I think I'll hold on to until something must have arrives - with the Switch releases this usually happens every week!

I can't wait to pick one up after using a friends over the weekend, been out of gaming for a while except for the odd game of FIFA. Holding out for a secondhand one but with the price difference, I'll likely end up just buying new if I can find a good offer.

Does anyone here use theirs on a 4K TV? If so how does it look? The handheld aspect is most appealing as I'm travelling a lot now also, did any of you find this a problem when you've spent most of your gaming time sat in front of a TV previously, I know you have the option for both here but I don't want to find it gimmicky when I can only use it handheld.

Looks fine on a 4k tv. No issues and the bright colourful games like mariokart and splatoon look great.

Last handheld device I used was the DSi and then tbh I never really used it that much. Just to play Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks really. I don't game on PC anymore so for the past 15 years or so I have only played on a console hooked up to a TV. Not 4k though so can't say about that as I am still on a 1080p panel. The Switch has been fantastic and I play a split 50/50 handheld/TV mode. My Switch goes everywhere with me. I play sometimes in handheld whilst at home (depends on the game) but mostly it is docked used along with the pro controller. Lunch time, airports, car journeys I am using my Switch on the go. Playing Skyrim with headphones on a plane and being completely absorbed by it was a major highlight for me.

I am really itching for a travel dock so I can plug in at work and squeeze in some time when I have it at lunchtimes but alas, none are out which I can fully trust. I don't fancy buying another Nintendo dock just to butcher and turn into a portable one either!

Use mine on a 4k set, KS7000. I sit a fair way back but it still impressed me. Zelda and Mario really do look amazing more due to their style over technical stuff. If you go close to the screen it can look quite jaggy around the edges but sat back on the sofa it's perfect (imo)
