*** Nintendo Switch ***

Argos have the ‘gold edition for £40ish. Doubt you’ll get it cheaper even buying 2nd hand.

Edit: sorry I thought you meant the game and the DLC. You could flip your std edition on facebay for £30 and rebuy the gold edition.

Is dlc even available outside the eshop?

So I got the cablecreation USB Type-C extender connected to the dock and switch. Played for hour or so, haven't experienced any input lag but my issue is I can't seem to get the wired controller to work sadly. The Switch won't detect it if i'm using the extender, if I docked the switch then it detects the wired controller straight away.

Think I'm going to pull the trigger and treat myself to a Switch for my birthday (unless any of you want to give me one? ;)). Any particularly good deals knocking around? Rather regretting not going for the Amazon Prime Day one now.

Lots of good deals kicking around today with the 10% off Ebay code. Have a look over on Hotdeals as they'll be cropping up throughout the day I suspect.

Wondering if Xenoblade 2 is worth a look at 29.99? I remember it being a bit mixed and hearing portable mode was a bit of a Mess?
Fun game if you can look past the anime characters and story. Its also a game that still has tutorials well into the final chapters. The combat can take a while to click too. Portable mode is a bit poor but I stopped noticing it as much after a while and played the entire game in handheld.

Yes IMO, the portable mode was patched awhile ago.

It still performs very poorly in portable mode.

Speaking of which, I don't know when it happened but Paladins performs way better than at launch. The resolution is much higher than it used to be in both docked and handheld modes.

I put over 100 hours into it but to be honest I only truly enjoyed a handful of them. The story is pretty terrible, combat gets repetitive very quick and the characters are a very mixed bag.

Thanks mate. I think I may hold off again then. I'm currently playing persona 5 and that's not small feat so I'm not desperate for another JRPG I guess. Think I just get easily swayed but a good price :D

Recommend Salt & Sanctuary for anyone who likes Dark Souls or Metroidvanie genre.

It’s literally a 2D Dark Souls!

A fantastic game! Must replay it some day

Finally bought a micro SD card yesterday. 128GB.

Was tempted by Resident Evil Revelations in the sale.

Worth playing? Not played a RE since Code Veronica on the Dreamcast.

I enjoyed the first revelations game. It won't knock your socks off or anything but it's pretty fun. The Raid modes in these games give them decent longevity. Can co-op as well. I need to go back to 2 at some point as I never finished it.

Yeah, same as above. It's not going to win any game of the year awards, but it's alright.

On another note, I'm a new Switch owner. After stumbling across a stream of someone playing Octopath, I had to get one. I was never a big fan of FF games when I was younger, but I played VI when it came out on iPad and loved it.

Just finished the story mode in Mario, which I loved, and I'm not normally a Mario fan either. I'll come back to it, but I bought the console for Octopath, and I've managed to find a copy today so I'm cracking on with that.

Although I'm looking forward to the Xenoblade 2 expansion so I'll probably play that first and get Octopath later in the year; autumn/winter is probably a better time for me to start a new JRPG.
