My Mrs complains about the click sound of all the buttons or else I'd do the same :D

One stand out thing I like about Rabbids over xcom is the chance to hit stuff. Xcom could be super frustrating. For example you could be stood right in front of someone with a shotgun to their face and have a 99% chance to hit. And often it would miss. It was so frustrating.

Here, because it's for 2 year olds ( ;) ) if they are out of cover it's 100% chance, behind small cover 50%, and in full cover 0%
Much better imo, easier to read and predict

I'm glad my wife is a deep sleeper. The clicking of the buttons doesn't wake her. Thank god for that :D

Over 100 hours in Zelda now :D
 
Switch has been a great purchase ^_^ Anyone else interested in 'Nine Parchments'? Looks kinda fun..as does Rabbids...Steam world dig 2..meat boy.. Wallet slowly melting

Which is more gaming that I've played in years. Still totally in love with it. Mario Odyssey will be my next physical purchase.
 
I keep having a look at this thread and resisting the urge to buy a switch.

However it's been a long time since I've played Nintendo games and it would be a really nice change. One thing I am actually in the market for is a tablet. Can you browse the web/netflix etc on the Switch? I think it would be an instant purchase for me if it can!

Some of the delays are getting silly. Still no virtual console, no browser, no media player, friend code system needs killing off. Games are more expensive on a Switch than other platforms for no good reason.

It's like Nintendo just don't care about making a decent system. They have no competition and could absolutely nail the portable gaming market.
 
Well nothing's really getting delayed as no date was ever set/promised for that stuff.

I believe last we heard was that streaming apps like "Netflix, Hulu and Youtube" will come "in time", that was around the time of the Switch launch. An App for NicoNico, the Japanese video sharing/streaming service, is available on JP eShop so other streaming apps might not be far away.

We also heard that friend invites via Username and Facebook are coming, but again, no date was ever set..
I agree Friend Codes should just die. The general social integration on Switch still needs to be expanded significantly, playing with real-life friends is not too difficult really, but it's really hard to make new friends on Switch and that needs to change.

I think Virtual Console might be coming with the payed service next year, along with a lot of online/social improvements in general.

Colours not matching? In which way? If it's the pairs of left and right, it's similar to the Neon Blue/Red, but you can get paired colours like gold. If it's the buttons, they are also optional (they come included but buttons are not part of the shell). If it's the railings, idk. The guy in the video had a green one, but maybe it's because he had a green Splatoon joycon to begin with?

I don't think they look too tacky. Heck, I only discovered these after being rather disappointed in knowing that I wouldn't be able to buy a pair of Official Red Joycons anytime soon (not sold in the UK and also out of stock for imports). So I spent some time looking at how people could mod their own. Some have painted them and put cool designs on them https://imgur.com/gallery/jfaPV Can't blame me for looking elsewhere when Nintendo themselves can't provide.

It does, the MHXX Switch has the regular grey casing, but the logo on the back is a MHXX Logo. Your preference for the shells over the joycons is interesting though. I showed my brother and he loved the joycons (especially the see through ones, a nod to GBA) but didn't like the casings. It still comes with regular grey joycons though and you know I want red ones... (hence my discovery of the above)

Today is the day, but unfortunately a busy day for me. It arrived in the country yesterday and was an additional £25 for tax and customs fees (via DPD), though that's nothing compared to the inflated price I paid for it to begin with. It was this or trying to find a Neon Switch and Neon spare joycons... which at the moment seems rarer than an SNES classic.

I probably won't open it for a while given that MHXX is the only game I currently have and I'm still playing the regular MHGen. Unless someone convinces me to get another game (my brother likes Xcom and thusly wants to play Mario + Rabbids).
 
Someone I work with brought in her neon Switch to show me Minecraft. Glad I went for grey. I like grey. Garish covers look cheap and tacky. Not going near those. Grey is good.

And her neon Switch? She just walked into Game a couple of weeks ago and just bought one off the shelf.
 
I prefer grey too but also think the neon looks alright irl. I wouldnt mind a pair of the neon yellow ones.

You wern't looking hard enough :), or had unfortunate timing. Both neon consoles and joycons have been regulary getting restocked for a while now - in the UK at least. They're in stock right now on the nintendo uk store.

Glad to hear you've almost got ur Switch. I played about 4 hours of the MHXX demo and was tempted to get it, I'd forgotten how fun it can be.

Is it just the UK they don't sell it or the whole or Europe?

I haven't actually looked but the next time I am in the stores I'll look for you. If I see a red set I'll let you know. I am in the UK next week so maybe I can help out :) - I'll take a look for you!
 
Anyone got any recommendations for portable chargers for the switch? Probably don't really need it other than for holidays and stuff like that. Two I've been looking at are: USB C Portable Charger RAVPower 20100 and the Anker PowerCore 10000.
 
Can vouch for Anker. I have the 20100 and its great. Have also heard good things about Aukey products.

Don't get me wrong I didn't mind the neon I just prefer what I have. I like the yellow ARMS ones as well and I was even tempted by the Splatoon colours. I still prefer the grey.

Those covers that mahius posted - I don't like those at all. They look a bit cheap and nasty to me. And now that Phate has pointed out the colours not matching I hate them even more!
