*** Nintendo Switch ***

I was in Asda getting a game case just a few minutes a go and I saw a rigid over cover for the Switch + Joy Cons. Looked useful as future proofing against frequent portable use.

Also received Mario Odyssey + Cappy hat :)

Mario is out for delivery today apparently, fingers crossed it lands as Amazon have a habit of saying its out and they never show for a day or two :)

Mine just arrived, quite early in the day for Amazon. Working from home today but alas actually got lots of work to do, maybe have a quick bash at lunch.

Also quite sad that I now probably won't finish Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Have they upgraded from the Pikmin they used for the Wii U transfer? :p

It's just a bar now :(

Also I had to re-download all my games again as it wiped my SD card, and Nintendo's servers are so slow!

On the plus side, all joy cons work flawlessly without the input lag or drop outs (even when behind my back at 5 meters), and the WiFi has almost tripled in range so it looks like I got a good one.

There is absolutely zero movement in the joy cons when attached to the console too, which is a first. I'll see if they loosen in time but the other 6 or so switches I have seen have all had some level of movement.

I caved and bought the Red Mario Odyssey Console last night, I'm reeeeeeeeally enjoying Mario Odyssey and i've missed him since my last Nintendo products was the 3DS then Gamecube.

Haha :)

Well, my collection is expanding quickly. I warned you I just needed to be able to get a Switch for the magical £200 figure...
I now have:
Lego City Undercover (which may get traded in as I played it on Switch)
Mario+Rabbids
Stardew Valley
Moon Hunters
Aaaand....a pile of PS3 games magically mutated into Zelda yesterday evening hehe (looks pristine so not sure how played it ever was)

Soon:
Mario Odyssey
Fast RMX
Splat2n

Heheh :)

For what its worth, seems to be very little movement in my joycons clipped to the side of the machine and Wifi seems to work with no obvious issues, so hopefully I've got one of a newer batch where they're eliminating these issues.

Also recieved my Orzly screen protectors yesterday, one of them came with dust 'preinstalled' :( luckily they come in twos however and the second one however seemed to be pristine and looks bloody marvellous fitted now. I saw the hinge method after I'd fitted it, but being honestly I fitted it almost identical manner just popping it on using the top of the screen (rather than bottom) to get it flat rather than bottom/stickers as per the fitting video they've done.

Not added a microSD card yet as will wait until I need it :)

Am really loving the 'just take it upstairs/to bed/study' aspect of it; and also as its Nvidia based, wouldnt be surprised if they introduce a (expensive) 4K dock with additional RAM/Processing/GPU later on...ala Switch / Switch Pro Dock.

I hope they do.
I don't own a Switch but would like to. My problem is that I have no interest in using it as a portable device and I don't like the fact that you get get better performance when it's not docked. Would drive me crazy knowing that everytime I get slow down, I would be better of playing it in portable mode.

Adding CPU power would be pointless as you would lose parity between handheld and portable modes.

Not if it was kept to optional staff, ala more physics, additional stuff that isn't CORE to the experience, and is there essentially to allow the machine to keep up with increased graphics performance or additional niceties that don't affect core gameplay and wouldn't be all that noticable on a small screen - the processors have to keep up with/feed the graphics processing after all.

The XBOX One and PS4 Pro also feature faster processing as well as graphics, for pretty much this reason, and utilise the same software, just alternate 'settings'; there's no reason as why the Switch couldn't also do this.

Can’t say I’ve seen many slow downs. Then again I’ve only played Mario and Zelda.

I’d be happy to buy a dock with upgraded processing power though. That’d cool.

Can anyone answer this

Am thinking of buying a second switch but would I be able to use a downloaded game on both of them ?
or would it be tied to only a single switch/device

IE
Are they tied to the device or my account
