*** Nintendo Switch ***

XBC2 seems to be the first AAA Switch game thats not getting universal praise. Ive got it put away as a Christmas present anyway so I guess I will have to wait and see what I think about it.
It is a very niche kind of game though. JRPGs are big in...you guessed it...Japan. RPGs are big everywhere else. From what I've read overall its a good game. But not for everyone. I don't think its for me, personally.

Ah much better. No more dodgy northern or Scottish accents. Fits much better with the visuals, too.

I''ll give the JP voices a try out of curiosity but personally find the English dub alright outside of one or two characters, the accents are quite amusing to me but I don't take the game too seriously. That said I am enjoying the plot so far, the mystery around it and how the characters own stories are integrated with everything (something previous Xenoblade games were very good at too).

For a mid-budget jrpg game as complex as big as Xenoblade 2, the overall presentation is quite solid imo.

My only real disappointment with the game so far is the image quality, even in docked, can be sub par at times. Fortunately there is a decent anti-aliasing solution in place, but the resolution can drop quite low.
Performance is a little rough in spots too but far from terrible.

The game is very good though, fantastic world design and despite the issues mentioned above can look amazing at times.
Gameplay wise, it definitely has that Xenoblade hook. I'm only at chapter 3 (the combat is really starting to open up now) but already find myself thinking about my ideal party setups and strategies. With all the various mechanics it can seem overwhelming at first, but under the surface it's really not that complex - there's just a bunch of things you have to remember. I love how it all comes together though, Xenoblade is largely about preparation and experimenting with the many options at your disposal, very satisfying once it all clicks.

I'm at chapter 3 as well. Loving the story. I always play games or watch movies un-dubbed if I can. The cutscenes with the two main characters are quite touching. I think it plays out better for me in the language it was created in.

I'm ok with how it looks. The scenery - particularly where I am now - is beautiful.

The score is very good too.

This is my first Xenoblade experience and I'm loving it so far.

Yeah I really like how it looks overall too, just occasionally looked a little muddy with the adaptive resolution. I'm noticing it less now, only really stood out for me at a few spots in the first open area.

I too prefer to watch undubbed movies with subs generally. I know what you mean with regards to the JP voices being a much better fit in this game - I'll play a bit of the story undubbed and see how I feel after that.

The music is fantastic I agree!. The world really feels like a living breathing place, its one of those games where you can tell a lot of heart and soul went into developing it.

I paid 38 it's coming on Monday I can't wait to play it my first time playing a jrpg properly , not sure wether or not to have it in Japanese or English though !

Why would you need bluetooth headphones in portable mode?
Are you going to continue answering my question with a question? :)

I have a set of BT headphones and I would like to use these when I travel on a plane... It does come with a cable but if there is a possibility to use it wirelessly that would be better. Hence the reason why I am asking about BT modules!

E: How does the USB headphone functionality work? Is it purely plugging in a USB dongle into the USB port in the dock? Or can it be somehow used in portable mode?

1 - Yes because the 3.5mm phono bluetooth adapters are rubbish and require external power, so if you can avoid using them it's better not to.

2 - Yes, it's a USB dongle that plugs into the USB port. You could also plug it into the Switch's USB port if you had a USB to USB-C adapter, but you'd have to be mad to do that instead of just using the usual cable.

The Switch dock is just a USB hub and a USB HDMI port, so you can plug a USB hub into the Switch in portable mode if you had a desire to use more than one USB device.

Well hot damn, I had no idea a USB wireless head set would just work out of the box.
I have been using the Creative Labs Tactic 3D Rage wireless headset for PC/PS4 gaming for years, and was super annoyed that I had to rig up the sound for the switch to go through the line in on the PC then broadcast it to my headset.
I read the above comment and go hhmmm no that will never work, I plug the USB dongle in the dock and boom, wireless headset for PS4/PC works on the Switch, this is a game changer boys :D
