*** Nintendo Switch ***

Although, adding on to it. When you get to the 100ish + mark on shrines, you do end up missing that noise of the sensor going off. When it does go off it really catches you off guard :D

Finished up the story in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, felt it came together very well at the end. Really liked how it seemed related to certain philosophy too, interesting stuff and actually had me re-watching cut-scenes to check some details.

I've done a few more quests and stuff since and they've been leading me to areas I had missed and to named (boss) monsters, still loads of stuff to do!. Awesome game really love how much attention to context there is for everything in the world, many of the side quests feel like part of the main game.

Mario+Rabbids will likely be the next Switch game I get in the new year, going to enjoy some multiplayer gaming and maybe an indie or two alongside XC2 in the meantime.

I just finished Odyssey, 300 stars + story complete. Not too excited to play through and collect all 999 moons now without an ongoing narrative.
I COULD see myself dipping into this game during car trips to grab the odd few stars but I feel without the real draw to progress, I'm kind of out.
I wish they had put say half the post game content into the first campaign.

Its a 10/10 and puts titles like Uncharted which somehow describe themselves as platformers to shame.

It could be improved by:
1. Harder boss battles - i know this isn't a feature of Mario games but I feel some of them were way too over simplified, the days of dying to bosses seems to be over unless you're playing Dark Souls which is sad for a game like Mario Odyssey because the controls are PERFECT. You feel in total control of your character and ability to get out of tight situations.
2. More pre-finale content of the main story ... possibly bigger extensions to the plot. I actually REALLY enjoyed the story, I loved that Bowser is this weird little (big) creep but more cut scenes and interaction would have been great. I actually think the post-game content could have been incorporated into the main story with *spoiler kind of * further cut scenes of u and bowser fighting for peachy.
3. Cappy mechanic was AMAZING but slightly oversimplifying at times. I would have liked multiple methods of using villains abilities to complete puzzles. Felt it was a little TOO simple by the end of the title but if they decide to keep cappy, I can see them building on this in other iterations.

Probably the best game I've played this year. Made me drop Suikoden 2 which I was pretty engrossed in. The game OOZES class and attention to detail.

Is it better than Mario Galaxy? Not sure. I feel a few of the worlds were a bit lacking compared to some of the bigger ones. But this is like comparing a A to an A**** so anyone who hasn't played the game, don't let my critiques make you not play this. Its the best platformer this gen bar none.

Once my Switch is replaced, I'll be playing BOTW or Rabbids. I played the first 10 minutes of Rabbids and its a winner. The attention to detail in the opening scenes alone is breathtaking. BOTW I'm waiting for my AVR to come back. I think I'm ready for it.

Really don't see how it can be compared to Uncharted which does not solely describe itself as a platformer anywhere, third person shooter, action adventure platformer but it's hardly trying to compete.
I agree though, it's really great and is my favourite game of the year even over Zelda which in all honesty I haven't clicked with yet.

So got my Switch early! :)

Very quick and easy set up. Just spent last night getting my ass handed to me on Bomberman by the missus.

Good fun, really looking forward to the local multiplayer aspect

Quick question, had my switch from launch and it seems to have a couple of issues. One , it looks bent, very noticeable when out on a flat surface, and also it appears to have that joycon issue.

Can you send it to Nintendo for the bending problem? It's literally been in it's dock 99% of the time.

Is it rather painless sending this stuff back to Nintendo?

Yeah it is. I had the joycon issue I sent it back to Nintendo and got it back a few days later.

They estimated it would take a month which I was quite annoyed about but a day later got an email stating they had fixed it, when I received the joycon back it looked to me like it was a brand new one too.

How bent ? Mine seems to have a very slight curve but only minimal so I've just lived with mine as it doesn't bother me too much , and also when I rang the UK Nintendo up they told me they'd just checked another 3 switches in the office and none of them were straight as a die so to speak :)

I have a pro controller and the two joycons from the console but I would quite like 4 controllers for split screen 4 player mariokart. What do people think is the best option. Another 2 joycons or a second pro controller.

I’m leaning towards the 2 more joycons option as it would be great to make a portable switch kit with one of those slimline docks then I could take 4 player gaming on the go in a tiny package.

Another Joy cons if it's now and again but any serious playing will be another pro controller.

Got my switch today, been playing Mario, plan on finishing that off before I start zelda, want to give zelda my full attention when I can!

I've found already that some moons are really obscure, I don't know if it'll get 100% but definitely going to give it a bash.

Is there a OCUK switch friends list? My list is feeling a bit bare, and eventually when smash comes out I'll want people to have a game with.
