Getting a switch for an early birthday present at then of this month. What's the must have accessories and do I need a bigger micro SD card?
I'm generally quite good with my pc and PS4 and only have one or two games installed at a time, before moving onto the next game. Then I would uninstall it.

I'd recommend just replacing it yourself. A replacement stick will only set you back about £4 and it's not too difficult to do as long as you watch a video guide beforehand to know where the fragile ribbon cables sit. Nintendo UK is playing hardball even though their US branch admitted fault. The Sale of Goods act means nothing to them apparently though YMMV if you ring up and kick up a fuss. You can also pick up metal clips for a couple of quid for the Joycons to fix the clip in issue while you're at it.

Thanks, but I should have specified I meant for games - I already own the console. Still, that'll be handy for anyone who hasn't bought the machine itself yet.

The sliding out issue is caused by the switch being dropped or bashed, and the plastic triangular retaining clips chipping.
Nintendo won't replace this under warranty but you can easily buy metal replacements on Amazon and change them yourself in 10 minutes.
The joy con analogue sticks can drift in a direction after prolonged use or if you're in a dusty environment and it gets until the rubber cap. It's a pretty widespread issue so it seems to be a matter of when it'll happen, not if.
Interesting, I've had mine since launch and I baby all of my gaming stuff but my joycons definitely don't sit as firmly as they did at launch and have slid out more than once. Will take a look into the metal replacements.
For the price I do feel the joycons quality is pretty poor, similar to my Xbox Elite controller which I love but has been replaced twice.
I HIGHLY recommend checking out a youtube channel 'my mate vince', he's done all sorts of switch mods, and regularly repairs analogue sticks and things like that!

Would like to see a TV edition of the Switch at one point as i've got zero interest in handheld gaming.
TV edition bundled with the pro controller for £150 and i'll bite. Currently, as things stand i'm not paying almost £300 on hardware (plus £40+ a game) just to play a few Nintendo games.

Best £300 spent in my opinion as a gamer, some people may think the handheld is useless to them but its fantastic being able to play Nintendo exclusive and third party games on the go OR at friends house racing on mario kart or super smash brothers without the need to lug around the docking station OR docked on TV.
Definitely recommend getting microSD card, screen protector and protective case if you're going to take it with you on the go.
That's...never going to happen. In what world are Nintendo going to sell the Switch for ~£100? If they ever come out with a TV only Switch it'll be £200 without a pro controller at least.

In that case i'll wait until it's reached EOL and pick it up for under £80.
Would like to play some of their titles, but not that much.
I have had the Switch since near release date and it spent its life docked and barely used (Once Zelda was finished). Then this year has been a bit of a resurgence, usually playing fun indie games with my brother once a week, rinsing through the Final Fantasies - I played 7, 8, 9, 10 back in the day but never completed them, but the Switch and handheld mode? Boom, 7 & 9 done, halfway through 10 so far. Portability was no interest to me when I got the Switch, even now my preferred style is docked, but with the right games you really appreciate handheld mode, so yeah I agree, don't underestimate the portability of the Switch as you never know when you may end up making use of it
Because I don't get much time to just sit in front of the TV and game for long sessions I tend to bypass longer games and use that time for quick MP bursts on MK8 or Apex Legends on the PS4. Really struggling with RDR2 because I just don't have that kind of time and I doubt I will ever finish it. But with the Switch I can happily play in short bursts playing big RPG's and not even notice that I've played them for 50+ hours. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a long game with a lot of replay-ability and I don't care because I always have it with me and I can play it in short bursts in handheld. I didn't buy the Switch as a handheld device but increasingly I play it more undocked than not.
