I've finally got three stars on mirror 150cc on MK8 and making the jump to 200cc. Jeez it's considerably more chaotic and challenging.
 
Might not be the best place for this Q but would people let their 8 year old play Lego Fortnite in sandbox mode? I've read CSM and it seems like Sandbox mode would be ok. He's desperate to play it as friends at school have it.

Advises online 7+ from what I can see so I would yeah. Maybe watch him first time he plays it see what it's about and if you're happy with it?
 
Defo recommend supervising any online play at that age, voice comms off, chat off, any other social features off.

Even as they get older and chat with (real life) friends etc, that would be via speakers, not headphones.

Yes the speakers is a good idea. It would actually be his first foray into online games so would definitely supervise. Just rather play with than watch :p.
 
The problem is that MOST people online are actually fine, but its ruined by the percentage who think it's fine to act larger than life (and not in a good way) and spam toxicity; and at his age, it'd be far easier to be influenced by that, so turning off ALL the social and leaving him with raw gameplay would be best.

Fortnite itself is a cartoon version of PUBG, with from memory zero blood, cartoon emphasised violence, with famous characters and a build mode, so that gameplay loop should be fine, you just want to keep him away from the actual players to avoid the negative elements.
 
I think the Lego Fortnite is more like a survival game from what I've seen of it, with base building and exploration/resource gathering the focus rather than the battle royale side most people are familiar with. I agree with the above advice but you'll probably find he only wants to interact with his real life friends in their own world away from the PvP side. Obviously if that's the case it'll be clear once you start a game together. Would be great if he wants you to stick around though!
 
I've been playing Metroid Prime 4 and I'm finding it to be very boring :confused: I've played some of the other Prime games and enjoyed them but this just isn't clicking for some reason.
 
I've not played it yet, been too busy, but from everything I've heard, it sounds like Retro struggled a bit with the core design basically being over a decade old, but they couldn't afford restarting the project again.
I'm just happy to see more Metroid, even if this is the weakest Prime, and hope Retro get more opportunities, now they're back in the driving seat.

Also heard rumours that Mercury Stream are working on a Super Metroid remake, that'll be a day 1 for me...

Thats because it is boring. Visually its pretty but there is so little substance to it. No exploration. Literally none. Its completely linear. Go wherever you like, do things in whatever order you want...as long as you go to these places in this order. Then it just wastes your time with the regular "return to base" requirements and the ******* desert.

I didn't even finish the game. Got to the final fight, tried it once and realised I didn't care even a little about it.
