Nghhhhhhhhhh that engine bay is utter filth. Put it in spoilers next time!
Seriously though.....beautiful....
How long you had it? What are the running costs like? If I ever save up enough to get one, I need to know!! :)

Had it 7 months, done about 600 miles so far, I dont take it out in the wet but I try to drive it once a week. In the summer I go to work in it sometimes and drive it in the evenings if its a nice night. Mpg cruising on the motorway is about 28mpg, just driving round normally its more like 14mpg.

Insurance wasnt cheap, apart from that I havnt had to spend out on anything. The chap who had it before me took good care of it.

Awesome, thanks for the info! It is a beaut, how much did you pick it up for if you don't mind me asking?
I would probably use it around the same, were I to ever get one.
I work 1 mile away from home and the route is packed with speedbumps so would not be ideal in a car such as this. Have my run around for that anyway!
Weekend and evenings are the way forward!

That Ice driving place with full replica circuits looks amazing and those are some great action shots!

Hah yeah good times :D I think I remember you were talking about the crossrail project and then I launched it, went around some corners and demonstrated the brakes and you forgot what you were saying  :p

A GTR is more practical than a 350Z so it wouldn't be a silly thing to do

I went from a 350z to GTR on the basis that it was more practical, that's what the missus specified when I was looking for a new car :D

That's the plan! :D

SVM just opened their new workshop and it has to be one of the most impressive tuning shops in the world!

They still have some work to do, like finish the car park and install the new dyno, there are lots of pictures at the following links:

Kind of makes me want a GTR again just to go there and have work done!

Maybe in the future when the R36 is out :D

Looks monstrous! I probably won't ever visit as my car is Litchfield tuned and any mechanical questions/issues I bother Andy @ ACspeedtech with.

I'm out at Oulton again on Saturday. If anyone is free/bored feel free to come along for few passenger laps, think it's only £5 for passengers.

With my W12 up for sale I'm so very tempted by an R32 or R33 GTR, my heart/the retro in me is telling me to go last year or two ('93 - '94) R32 GTR but my head is saying last year/series 3 R33 GTR due to the advancements in virtually all areas.

Any opinions from people who have owned either or even both?

I've been staring at this for about half an hour now:

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...n-skyline-r32-gtr-grade-4-5-rust-free/3199512

I know you can get them for £8k - £9k but they are generally used and abused every day with some sorts of tasteless mods body, wheels or interior wise that just ruin it.

The R32 is very tail happy for an AWD car while the R33 feels very heavy in comparison, although nowhere near as bad as the W12 :D Both really need 350-400+hp to feel quick which is usually referred to as Stage 1 which is exhaust, air filter and 1bar boost and maybe some mapping and then they start to feel a little bit epic :D

Parts are now being an issue, mainly for the body rather than the engine as both cars are around 20-25 years old. I'd consider using Rod Bell as a garage if you're in the top 2/3 of the UK or AbbeyMS or RK Tuning in the south.

I imported my R34 through Miguel @ Newera Imports and the quality of their work is phenomenal, they only import highly looked after cars, although their prices reflect that (£15K+ for a R32!). Just be aware that age is starting to catch up with these quickly, so be careful because they're now at an age where they can't be replaced.

Chasing another GTR around Oulton Park yesterday. The GoPro really doesn't pickup the noise as it took me 20 minutes to get past the 105db static noise limit in the morning.

That's rediculously fast. :D

But it does look rather point and squirt, you just roll around corners and gun it on the straights. I guess it's not a car you can throw around ?

It looks awfully slow in the video compared to sitting in the car. if you think 640hp changing between AWD and RWD as you go through the corner is point and squirt then yeah I guess you don't need to be doing too much and don't have to worry about the 1750kgs flailing around either :D

I think those laps in the video were 5-10 seconds slower than my quickest round Oulton so I wasn't going all out! And I'm fairly certain s decent dr get could knock another 5 seconds off my time easily!

Cheers for that info.

You'd be surprised just how nimble the W12 can feel, despite it being 17ft long, several cows worth of upholstery, a trees worth of trim and enough electronics/toys to keep Q Branch busy, it's all Aluminium construction makes it only a couple hundred kg heavier than the R33 and almost 1000kg lighter than it's all Steel cousin the Phaeton.

I understand where you are coming from power wise, very similar to my old ur-quattro, it had 260bhp, felt quick enough although the sound probably amplified that, god it sounded good! It would embarrass your typical boy racer but it is 30 years old now and a modern car with the same power would leave it behind, well in a straight line anyway, I'm yet to find anything that cornered like the quattro did, on decent tyres it would rip your face off before it came unstuck.

Parts availability doesn't faze me much, I'm used to vehicles with much scarcer parts availability ('59 VW Karmann Ghia and '85 Audi ur-quattro Turbo)

I'd probably say £14k - £15k absolute max but it would have to be immaculate and need nothing like the one I posted.

Newera are out then, nothing under £17K on their site but it shows that the value of good R32's is heading upwards quite significantly now. R33's still seem to be hanging around the £12-14K mark though.

A bit too extreme for me but it does look good in blue.

From the article:
In January 2015, this metallic blue beast was the subject of an elaborate photo shoot organized by American wheel specialists Vossen. They traveled to Yokohama and just like us, they were amazed by the complexity of the Skipper body kit.

16 pictures and video in the gallery

turned up to 11? the only thing turn up to 11 is the exhaust and they have managed to make it sound like a civic with a straight pipe. :(

Was more talking about the looks and mods rather than exhaust. It has a wide bodykit and hydraulics... Because that's what was missing from a GTR!

Although I think it sounds nuts! Saw one locally roaring around with a similar exhaust set up and the sound is unreal. You can feel the turbos spooling up!

Also, I meant the lights from the above link, are they stock or new ones? Can't find em anywhere else?!
