No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

Shame they didn't make the OpenGL requirement better known. Hopefully the issues will be resolved. It is however a shame if they are getting negative reviews due to people not reading and meeting the requirements.

Now where to find some antimatter?

Ah well, need OpenGL 4.5 support... I hoped having crossfire 6970 would give me some ability to play in 1080p on my TV for a chilled game, sadly not. More of a hardware restriction than a reccomendation.

Requested for a refund :(

Apparently it looks like it's bascially emulating a PS4 from people looking at the files so that might explain a lot.

It's not emulating anything. Devs port libraries to make their job easier, e.g. Bethesda used them too for DS4 support.

Is discoveries working for everyone? So far I have explored caves, found new animals and so on but never got a discovery notification.

hmm well i think im enjoying it :) The only thing annoying me at the moment is flying around planets. I want to fly up and down and hover which it doesn't seem to let me and that's just annoying as hell. GFX seem fine although i get a sticking update every minute or so for a brief second. Other than that its fine.

Yeah I found that too, the flight mechanics on planets kinda suck.

I'm surprised that there doesn't seem to be a updated Nvidia driver, they are usually quite hot on providing drivers for big new releases.

looks like amd have pushed out NMS drivers today, might help some if they havent spotted.

just seen this myself, I wonder if it'll actually improve anything at all

Package Contents
The Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.8.2 installation package contains the following:
Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.8.2
Driver Version 16.30.2511.1001.

Game runs ok at 1080p for me, a bit of stuttering here and there using an I5 2500k, 8GB RAM and a HD 7970. Not particularly overwhelmed by the graphics, but there is more to a game than that.

Don't know if it's an extreme coincidence or not (and this will sound funny), but I've felt like crap since playing it and I've felt fine all day so far. I think I'll give it another try in the morning and see how I get on.

well found my stuff to fix ship and went to new one.

BTW for that dude that said next planet was hours away.. use hyperspeed or whatever the **** its called. makes you go fast..

Its weird that game didnt stutter for me while flying, but does walking around..
i5 2500k @4500 and a 390

Discovered a barren planet which harbors no fauna whatsoever!

Absolutely loving the game! It runs beautifully on the system in my signature. I had to set "Max FPS" to max in order to resolve the stuttering.

Took a punt, I'm not bothered about this multiplayer lies bs as long as it's a nice single player experience and for my trouble I got 4 CTDs in 32 minutes.

I think I'll be going for a refund and back to Subnautica, for those who are having better performance out of this than me, good luck I'll be keeping an eye on this topic to see how it fares, but when Steam's refund policy forces me to make a relatively snapshot decision on keep vs refund I'm afraid this just doesn't cut it. Maybe something to have another look at in the new year when it's been patched.
