No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

That is the problem, people who can't run it are busy complaining. The rest are enjoying, but won't post reviews yet. That said, it sucks for those who can't run it! They really are missing out.

Those playing may be too scared to alt tab and crash..

Anyway I'm sick of "wait for the patch to fix it" as a defence these days, it went gold, it should be performing better than this.

I'm still holding out hope for me getting it in a month or so.

Performance for me wasn't all too bad, to start with it was stuck at 30fps 1080p, adjusted settings to max, 1440P 'max' frame rate, stuttered like made for the first 5 mins then smoothed out to a healthy 90fps (4770K - 980Ti). That said any other stutters would have been masked by GSync.

I'm requesting a refund as, for the hour that I played it, it didn't draw me in to play more at all, spent 40 mins running around a frozen wasteland, got into space and was told I was 4 hours from the nearest planet, turned it off, requested refund.

Agreed, 100 isn't enough for some reason.

My nearest heridium deposit is 10 minutes away :(

Use your scanner to find items on the route, some restore your health some restore your shields. I found a base half way to the deposits I needed, managed to fix my ship and then fly to it.

I turned off AA and I get a quite significant fps boost, it's running smooth and with no jitters now. The game is growing on me and I'm under no illuision it will get repetitive.

Those reviews/ratings on Steam are quite childish, a little tinkering and the game runs perfectly well. It aint no 'Alien Isolation' but it's still good fun.

I eventually worked out that you could pick things up enroute. Took me a while though :)

I too can see it getting repetitive, but some of these worlds are pretty neat!

Nice game, my kind of game & once I got the settings sorted run's great for me at 1440p (rx 480 & 2500k)

Sad to see so many with issues but hopefully they will get jumped on quickly by the devs & respective driver teams.

It runs OK for me at the moment and I'm sure that performance will improve as they patch it.

I'm not that taken with the gameplay so far. I've repaired my starter ship and I've started to fly around to see if I can find anything else interesting on my starter world before heading out into space. I've played for around 80 minutes and to be honest was getting a bit bored towards the end of it. I'll stick with it though and it'll be interesting to see where it goes with some of the updates that are coming.

Ah well, need OpenGL 4.5 support... I hoped having crossfire 6970 would give me some ability to play in 1080p on my TV for a chilled game, sadly not. More of a hardware restriction than a reccomendation.

Requested for a refund :(

Apparently it looks like it's bascially emulating a PS4 from people looking at the files so that might explain a lot.
