They did make it quite clear before release what the game is and what it isn't. Some people just chose to ignore it and get on the drama train.
You cannot be serious.
None of the promo material across the years looks anything like the final game, many significant features that Murray himself in interviews confirmed, are not in the game.
Each system is essentially a box with 3 or 4 spheres in without any promised planetary orbits, planet rotation etc. The planets all have the same stuff on so they're dull as possible after seeing the first few. There's next to no variety in terrain, it's all just bumpy hills for as far as the eye can see.
There are no actual NPC's to speak of except for the fixed conversation bots.
There's no fleet battles that Murray promised in interview and that IGN reported on.
There's pretty much no AI for creatures, or any difference in flight models between the ships that once again, Murray and Hello Games promised in interview.
The game is not multiplayer in ANY form, despite Murray stating in several interviews that it was a shared universe. And being "truly" mmo style wasn't the point. The fact is that the world as a single player game without ANY chance of meeting anyone has a totally different feel that they purposely falsely marketed to drive up sales.
We were told that these features were present, so the only answer is that they were removed before launch or never existed in the first place. Both of which are pathetic scenarios.
In fact I can only assume the review sites were paid off by Sony to lie in their "lets play" streams etc, as otherwise this would have come out long before release.
The silence from Hello Games is disgusting behaviour towards consumers paying £40 for what is effectively an early access game.
Anyone defending this situation is a mug.
