Now it's my turn - Can't find our tin opener, what to do?

Corned beef, cucumber and mayo on a seeded roll was something I used to like...Not had it in years so not sure if it’d still be as nice

Mayo and beef?

Corned beef is literally crap. I cannot even imagine what goes into the tinned variety. I thought it was only bought by hoarders for emergency use only.

I also said (in very small text) that Mrs. Feek would know exactly where it was and I was right. When she got home and I asked about said tin opener, she pointed me in the right direction. I was looking in the drawer it used to be in, not the drawer that she moved it to without mentioning it.
And that is how an RBMK reactor explodes a tin opener gets lost!

I have an incredibly similar one which I used for the first time yesterday. It was so smooth I had no idea that I'd even opened the can.

badass can opener with enormous URL

Swiss engineering the same country who made the aptly named Swiss army knife Vs what appears to be a well made Chinese alternative safety tin opener.

The real test is after opening the tin could you run your finger or tongue along both the lid and tins edge and it was so smooth and blunt a 5 year old would be in safe hands?

The best tin opener I've used bar commercial ones that clamp on the end of a worktop and are massive for opening 5kg time, etc
That looks ridiculous and would take up so much space in my kitchen drawer...
We have a regular butterfly one somewhere, but I always just reach for my Swiss Army knife and use that.

They sell much smaller versions that does 5 jobs in one so compared to the alternative of storing 5 seperate devices it takes up much less space.

I actually don't have that model but the smaller tin opener only model. I wish I had that though seems even better.

Except that I have no need of the other four functions, so even the one would technically be too much... and more so if I just kept to the P-51. Heck, I could have that, plus the SAK and the P-38 mentioned earlier, and still save space over this!

I'm yet to do that. I will endeavour to do so when I next open a can.

I'm worried I'm quickly approaching the age where I might start thinking about buying corned beef. A terrifying prospect.

Bully beef and biscuits helped us win two world wars, must be something good about it.

I'm surprised no one suggested cracking open a few shotgun shells, getting the black powder out and sitting the can on it before setting light to a birthday cake candle (to give you time to reach safety) and await the explosive opening of the can.

Why don’t you try it and let us know the results?

The Kuhn rikon is 100% safe I've even shown it to people who were baffled how to use it when they came round and had to open a tin when helping out or making dessert.

I showed them and subsequently I then said look no part of the tin opener gets dirty it has a gripper to grab the top and both are completely safe and ran my finger across them saying completely safe for kids to use.

Every one I've had before was literally razor sharp.
