Now's your time AMD

What most people want, is for AMD to be competitive and to drive down NV prices so they can buy that. Most probably have no interest in ever buying another AMD card.

Right, AMD now know this, they haven't been competing at the highest end for years, sinking R&D at this level so nVidia fanboys are not fleeced quite so much is just not sustainable and its at an end.

From now on its the £300 or less level, that's where AMD do sell cards and make money.

I'll buy whatever is best perf/£ if they are similar, I will buy AMD. Because I think nvidia takes us for a ride.

Come to think about it. I don't think I've ever paid more than £350 for a GPU. got this 1080 for 350 on the MM before the mining boom. I'm not paying 4 figures for a GPU. ever. Most I would go is 500 I think. But buying second hand is where its at for me. As long as the seller is decent. Most on here are.

Nvidia still have a bigger 20** card to release than even the titan for this series, the 2080ti should be the 2080, the titan should be the 2080ti and the full fat chip will come later as another titan like they did with Pascal.

The reticule limit is around 850 or similar and they are at around 750 with the current die so not much room to go larger.

If the sapphire 64 comes in at £449 I may be tempted. The blower on my reference card this summer has drove me mad

I went to £450 for my V64 I highly doubt I’d ever go higher than that.

Those are big price drops and no body noticed, says it all doesn't it?

I noticed! ;)

I've been eyeing them up for a week or so, but just realised that my 700w PSU isn't man enough for the 64 so it will probably be the 56 for me. Even that is probably a close thing as it says it requires a 650w.

Might take the plunge for the Vega 56, will my Seasonic Focus 550 be man enough to power that you think?

Says who? AMD's recommendation for a 750W PSU is assuming full system 100% load with a potato PSU because Joe Average doesn't know what he's doing. Unless you're overclocking the tattas off your entire system, you can easily tune up the Vega to draw less power and bring the overall requirement down.
