NR200 Owner's Thread

Upon further investigation, I think only (1) of the (2) fans is making the noise. Oddly enough when I put the fans as INTAKE...there is no motor noise from either. But when I flip them over and have them as exhaust, the 1 fan suddenly has the motor noise. So it seems when the fan is hanging on the shaft it makes the noise. But when it is sitting on it, no noise at any rpm besides wind turbulence. Basically I removed (1) fan and it was quiet in both intake or exhaust. Tried the other...intake quiet....exhaust had the hum. You could even feel it if you held the fan. I think of a car with a warped brake rotor...at a certain point in the tire rotation, you'll feel/hear it. Same with this (1) fan...as it spins you feel the bad spot...there is clearly something that is out of tolerance causing it.

Running at 900rpm and its dead quiet. Think that'll suffice as it didn't impact my system temps to go higher than that. My 1080FE is a heater anyways thanks to its blower config. Hopefully running a 3080 or 3070 TUF...if they are EVER available...will cool GPU temps and maintain a the current quiet and cool temps in this awesome case.

Update from my build...

1080ti --> gigabyte 3080 gaming OC

Excuse me for the video quality.

Looking good!

Two things.

1) I see your CP cooler set up as intake. How were temps vs it as exhaust?
2) Thanks for the video. This is what I meant by how with the glass panel on...you cant even see the Noctua Brown fans from the side. You'd have to look up at an angle to even see them. May have to just bite the bullet...

1 - Few degrees difference. In my case it was better to have them as intake. Running 9600k @ 4.8ghz and vcore on auto. 1hr on prime95 the highest I've seen the temps go was 76 and on exhaust it was 81, both using silent fan profile.
Still need to iron out some stuff because previous I had it at 4.9ghz and the highest I've seen the cpu go was 65 on prime95, but this was with a different motherboard and a 1080ti. Maybe the 3080 is adding a lot more heat.

2 - I was going replace them with chromax when they're available but now I thinking there's no need. Like you said unless you look at it at an angle you won't see it.

I have the same cooler coming tomorrow, what board are you using please and did you have to bend the fan clip to get it to clear the ceiling fan?

gigabyte z390i - there’s enough clearance that you don’t need to bend the clips. On my previous board I had to, that was the asrock z390m-itx/ac

Probs been asking a load of times but is there any insight on these coming into stock? Seems they're as rare as rtx 30!

Last I saw was back on page 55 at beginning of Sep:

Been reading through the 55 pages of this forum before deciding on moving from my Node 202 to an NR200P. Created an account just to mention that I'd called in to Overclockers UK on Friday afternoon, spoke to a very friendly chap who advised me that they'd purchased 75 of the cases originally and were surprised how quickly they sold out. They were subsequently supposed to be ordering another 70 or so of the case again the following month, but was accidentally missed from the order. They are currently expecting the next batch for delivery to customers mid-October, and the site has now been updated to accept pre-orders for the case.

No idea how many people have pre-ordered but fingers crossed for a mid-Oct delivery.

Needed a bigger case for a pending 30 series. Was a bit shocked by the size difference.

In case anyone was wondering, the Fuma 2 is not compatible with the Asrock Z390 phantom gaming ITX. The heatpipes of the cooler interfere with the VRM heatsink.

How are your GPU temps running the vertical orientation and the TG? Yeah if I didnt know any better I'd think you were comparing a ITX to a mATX/ATX case haha.

They might aswell make it an MATX tbh, I used to have a Rajiintek Styx Matx and it's pretty similar in size.

GPU temps are about 60-70 degrees for an RX480. Won't be using a vertical stand with a 30 series card though.

@JClarke

Just fitted my Mugen 5 and it hit 72c on my 3600 after half an hour of Heaven

I noticed you mentioned your CPU hit 65c what CPU is it?

Pretty disappointed to be honest might need to repaste it but I've pasted loads of coolers and never had an issue before. My Wraith Prism gets the same temps albeit louder and that was in a warmer room

How do you have your fans setup? Also are you using stock kaze flex?

I'm planning the same move but that looks WAY bigger than I expected!

Hi all, just to show my NR200P....simply awesome I could fit my H105 38mm with 2 vents pull and 1 push....great temps for a 3900x 1.2. Didn't expect this perfomance with Rad on the side. Maybe I will try reverse mod and cutting plastic top panel and obtain 1cm more.

When benching I did indeed only hit 65c on the 3600XT. I have found once gaming that the temp can peak towards 70c, but is kept under control and nice and quiet. I actually never used the Kaze Flex fan and instead replaced it with a Noctua NF-F12 Chromax to match the case fans I had (2x slim at bottom and 2 more nf-f12s at the top).

It has taken me a while to get the fan curves where I want them to keep the case quiet. I can really feel the heat coming out above the motherboard. I will run a Heaven benchmark and get back to you.
