NR200 Owner's Thread

Case ordered, now waiting for SF600 to become avaliable. Sleeved cables will be nice to have but still would prefer them in white/gray instead of black. Has anyone had contact with cables sold by this aliexpress seller ? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000472969329.html

Still cant decide on cooler. I want it in white to match gigabyte white 2060s/2070.
1. Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo White. Looks nice and would match 4 white arctic p12 I will put in case. But then glass panel wouldn't close so it's kinda pointless to make color matching build. (158.8mm)
2. SilentiumPC Fera 3 with colored white top but it's weaker so no OC. (155mm)
3. Trying to paint top plate of Mugen 5 (can someone please check if caps can be unscrewed?) (154.5mm)
4. Frost Spirit 140 unbelievably somehow fit with TG. This one seems to have removeable top. (158mm)
5. Deepcool Gammaxx GT Has white(ish) top, RGB looks nice. May fit with 1mm or even 0.5mm shorter motherboard standoffs. (156mm)

Nice and clean!

I'm waiting for whatever I end up getting....an Asus TUF 3080....3070ti? before ordering custom cables.

Did just order my Asus b550 itx mobo though in anticipation for Zen 3 announcement tomorrow.

I saw a couple of inverted NR200s. Managed to find a rough guide.

Its pretty easy to follow, and while it does require some filing and drilling out of some rivits you can return to the standard configuration and either use some screws or install new rivits.

Only downside is my H100i hoses are too stiff so looks like I won't be able to pull this one off. I'll try tomorrow to mount the radiator with the tubes going down the side of the psu. Not the motherboard end.

I swore by Noctua until I got some Artic P12 fans. A lot lower price and VERY comparable noise and performance. Plus that silly little PST pigtail is actually really nice for cable management.

thank you amd for increasing the prices
I was hoping to pay 329$ for an 8 core processor just like the ryzen 7 3700x and not 450$ for the ryzen 7 5800x

I agree that I wish there was a 3700x/5700x. $450 is a little on the higher end that I want to pay, especially considering the incremental FPS delta between the 3700 and 3800.

Will have to wait and see what the benchmarks are for the 5600x.

I think we will see a nice boost for the 5600X. After all the cache is not split like it is in the 3600. I am waiting to see a real test of the IPC uplift. Want to see a 5600X put at exactly the same clock speed as a 3600 and then give us some single core testing.

Ordered another Scythe Mugen 5 Black Edition, hopefully this one isn't damaged.

Looks like I'm waiting for an unannounced 5700X, I want to move on from 6 core but the 5800X is a bit rich for me so it's a shame there will be more waiting there but at least I'll have more cash for an RDNA2 GPU

So I had to adjust my fan curve for the system fans (2 CM included fans) as they were humming/resonating at around 1000-1100rpm. Now they are at roughly 800rpm during idle/non-gaming use and quiet. I'll have to see if the hum comes back when I play games. At first I thought it was my HDDs...but I remembered there were no HDDs in the case lol.

Maybe I'll have to order a set of P12's sooner than I thought. Was hoping to add those when I did a tear down of the case for the Zen 3 upgrade in the near future. My asus B550 board came in...so now to wait for benchmarks and to decide between the 5600 and the 5800. Part of me leans towards the 5800 since I do some engineering/CAD work on occasion with my personal rig.

ahhh I see so that's the only reason, hmm will look into it more then for my build... after all I don't mind spending a bit more for a slight performance gain when already spending enough on the rest of the components :D

The gain in performance as some might say may not be as big as you think depending on usage. I just built up a second NR200 case. Both cases have very similar builds with the exception one has a 280mm AiO and the other has a Big Shuriken 3 with a P12 on top and a P12 on the rad rails.

In terms of noise level under gaming load, the two systems both showed a delta of around 3.5 dB beyond noise at idle. There was a slight lead for the AiO of maybe 0.2 dB but overall hard to notice.
In terms of core clocks and frame rates when playing RDR2 the two systems where within 2 FPS of each other after a couple of hours of game play, no difference that was noticeable.
In terms of temperatures on the CPU the AIO has a solid lead but then again for a system that retails at 270% higher cost than the Big Shuriken three this was to be expected. The AIO was around 62C and the Air cooler around 68C.

So similar noise, identical gaming and 9% temp reduction on the CPU for 270% cost increase.

So I printed some little grommets out of TPU material to see if that helps with the resonance in the fans or if the fans just have a noisy motor/whine to them at certain RPMs. Reason I printed them was, while the quick connect pins go into a rubber grommet in the top of the case, the part where the screw is and where it comes into contact with the CM fans is basically metal (pin) against the plastic of the fan. So now adding a TPU bushing may quiet that contact down...at least in theory haha.

Other fans like Noctuas have the nice rubber cushions on every corner so that probably helps keep things quieter than lower quality/cheaper fans.

For those that run the Arctic P12s do the P12s have rubber bushings in the corners? Or is that a solid plastic connection point? Based on this photo from their website it seems like there is no rubber grommet in the corners. CM Sickleflows are similar with nothing to cushion the corners.

Noctuas have those rubber corners.

Good info @Mopar. Lucky you to have (2) of these cases. Until I get this resonance figured out, I'm starting to think....why did I do this? My previous case was silent...haha. But I do really love the look and size of the NR200P vs the CoreV1. At <1000rpm, silent...no resonance. >1000....and dont even try to run these at 100% that just crazy loud. My CPU barely gets to high 60s while gaming with the 50% max fan speed so thats nice. Maybe thats the threshold. As long as temps are good (<70c), and its quiet...I dont need to run the fans >50%?
