Nurse arrested for murdering babies

So you know the new modern matrons.
Not the ones that check on what a nurse is doing or has done.

My local Hospital has put an old fashioned Matron on some wards because of the mistakes 1 or 2 nurses did.
And the place was being sued left right and centre.
Things are now looking brighter and better.

I will leave it at that.

Oh yes you clearly know better.

I would be back in FL living it up. And not in a electric wheelchair because a nurse ****** up because no one checked on her and what she did.

And what if the matron ****** up? Everyone one is fallible, which is why it makes sense to have multiple systems in place, and not just one (which is what you're suggesting).

That's a IF we will never know.
But my surgeon(active army one) at the hospital caught the mistake the next day.
Which was to late.

Have you any idea how many claims are to do with surgeons?
Quite a large percentage especially orthopaedics.

The old fashioned Hattie Jacques Matron usually had one ward where she patrolled up and down doing all the paperwork, making sure there was enough staff, making sure there was enough pens & paper, making sure clinical staff were behaving and a 1000 other things.
Funnily enough they changed the job role because they had too much to do and not enough hours to do it.
If you went back to a 'do it all' Matron I can't imagine the state we'd be in.

You must have lived in a right poor area.

The Matrons\Head Nurses I knew was at the top nurses in the hospital.

Yo
The Matrons\Head Nurses I knew was at the top nurses in the hospital.

Exactly, you agree with me however they can't do all the jobs/work that the Hattie Jacques type Matron did, there is just too much.
You're living in the 60s.
We still have some old type Matrons at our hospital although getting on a bit and their job roles have had to change dramatically because they wouldn't be able to cope.
I can still remember being in hospital in 1971 waiting for an appendix operation and I had to ask the Doctors and Nurses to stop smoking around me - times change.

This is back in the news as the trial has started. Reports so far indicate the case is based upon her presence during the events where babies crashed. It’ll be interesting to see what other evidence is presented. So far it seems to be circumstantial, but I’m sure more will come to light during the expected 6 month long trial.

It's all circumstantial or whatever evidence apart from the facebook stalking? which makes her look guilty but seems none of it can really be proved.

The only reason they seem to even "know" is because "statistically" less should have died

I expect they have more than that given she was denied bail for the past 2 years.

I have witnessed criminal negligence and incompetence in the NHS, so I don’t find the fact that this has occurred surprising at all, but I’m fascinated by this case in particular because the alleged serial killer is female and has been unusually bold.

Given they changed everything... like closing things down... it's a somewhat bad comparison. They'll have to go on any real evidence instead of stats.
