Nvidia 30X0 series waterblocks

Heres a few , been 100% stable upto now cyberpunking all night, btw you have to buy the ek back plate as the zotac will not fit, but its worth it as its a nice big chunk of alloy and really goes with the wb :)

What temps are you getting if you don't mind me asking? Mines been a little weird. At the beginning I was seeing no more than 45 degrees but over the last week that's crept up to 50 degrees on my 3080. i think that the thermal paste might be poorly applied ?

50c seems about right tbh, mine was originally 48c on first application then with the heating on it crept upto 50c. It will balance around 48-50c now unless the ambient temp is really low.

Sorry to hijack but I just happened to read this. I am experiencing a similar thing with the reference EKWB 3090. It is in the loop with a 5950X though. I feel like the temps went up as well when I turned on XMP and possibly PBO in the bios, which makes sense I suppose, heating up the loop as a whole. I never fitted a waterblock before, so hoping I did it right! It's maxing at 55c at the moment at 100% power limit. Not great. not terrible.

Can't comment on this one as i've got my gpu in a separate loop so its not affected by any other sources of heat in the system. I've got another block coming from a different brand which i'll compare with the alphacool one and see what temps are like. Not expecting much but if i can shave a few degrees off it would be nice.

Have you tried using liquid metal? Might help a lot in your situation. I'm using thermal grizzly Kryonaut on my 3090 and seeing temps between 48-50c.

Just using the stock EK paste that came with the block. I would definitely hope to not take the GPU back out again! But I have seen the gains you can get with LM.

I was very close to doing a separate loop for gpu and cpu this time but seems like a bit of a hassle. I saw those thin EK res/pumps you can get like a distroplate. I think you may have had them. Two of them would be sweet.

Yeah thats exactly what i did, 2 EK 120 FLT's with D5 pumps on the back. It's whisper quiet even for all this hot hardware, the 3090 is abit of a beast to cool so i was never expecting to drop below 45c though thinking about it now i may do if i used liquid metal. Will have to see when the block comes which paste i use and i'll report back with my findings.

:( my fe card is acting up big time spent the last few weeks undervolting and to begin with everything was great, but latley no matter which adjusted profile i apply my card wont work with any of them, worse now my pc just freezes and hard reboots until i set the card back to stock, i can do the old fasioned oc by applying offsets but i hit pwr limt almost imediatly which hampers my 3dmark runs, games are fine but i want those ilusive high 3dmark scores.

i managed to pick up a gaming trio x 3090 a few minutes ago, when i can buy a block and a extra 8 pin pcie cable i'll get it all installed and see what the new card can do, may have a fe 3090+block going for cheap but dont know yet

My PNY 3090 with EK block and LM on the GPU hit 43degrees under heavy sustained load. It is in a loop with my CPU and ambient was 19 degrees.

I think Liquid metal is well worth the effort if you feel able to do it safely, but I understand why it isn’t for everyone.

Your home is so cold! I find anything below 22 cold so the heatings always on to keep the temps up lol.

22

I think I would die of heatstroke. :D Give me winter all year round. **** summer.

We have smart TRVs in each room so the rads can have certain rooms higher or lower temp than others. I prefer it cooler but I’m not the only one in the house. At this time of year walking into some of the other occupied rooms has me reaching for the windows...

Im slightly cautious of Undervolting. Getting the max speed at the lowest voltage will put a strain on your hardware part (my thinking anyway) I can understand Undervolting at reasonable speeds, but doing 2100 mhz at 1V or less is definitely going to put a strain on it. Same with RAM, If my Ram is rated at 1.5V im not going to run it lower if even I can tighten the settings and increase its speed at lower voltages.

I could be totally wrong, but I think ill be overclocking my GPU using the basic overclocking methods rather than a custom curve with an undervolt. I don't see much difference from power draw anyway.

trouble is if i go down the route of old fasioned oc it'll hold but the card hits power limit all the time and down clocks to around 1770mhz, that's at 114% pwr target enabled , temps are good 45-54 degress.
my ram oc is around +500 at oc or undervolt and i've noticed anymore and my card hits power limit very fast.
i will say with my undervolt when it worked i got as high as 1999mhz avergae clock at 0.983v, but testing again and i've found 0.983v wil work but at 1935-1950mhz now both undervolts allowed the card to work and not hit power limit.
when i launch 3dmark and run timespy i've noticed my cpu score has tanked loosing almost 1000 points overall and i havent changed any settings ram was at 3733mhz and IF was at 1866mhz with all voltages set when i hit 17067 for the cpu.

i'll be buying a ax 1600i 1600w psu soon to replace my hx1000w and see what happens, my guess is psu as when i was undervolted or oc'd a few days ago my pc frozen and switched off, when i got back into windows i had the sound of devices connecting and disconecting which is a pain

You maybe onto something there. Ive had all lights at the 8 pin flashing which is something to do with the power supply I think. This is with the AX1500i too. Hope I don’t need to get a new one.

Ive also noticed 3D Mark can give great results one day and 1000 less the next. Not sure why that happens, but it maybe PSU related. Mine is 3 years old.

I’m also getting terrible timespy scores compared to others with lower clocks same as Port Royal. I’ve noticed though it’s rare to see a ryzen doing well pre Dec in the hall of fame which make me believe the bios right now is to blame.

i'm not on the latest bios for my board but it might be worth looking at that soon, right now i need to wait for the 1600w ax psu, a few retailers have them up for pre order with stock due in a few days, downside it's over £400 which is a lot :(, my hx 1000w unit i have now is around a year old, it should be good for many years to come but 3090's pull a tonne of power which is enough to trip up any psu on the market :(

will be keen to see your results. I’m building my new pc tomorrow which will have Corsair ICue installed so I can monitor anything unusual. If everything sorts itself out including your gpu with the AX1600 I’ll have to get one too. I think my AX1500i is struggling with age

Odd that 1500w AX unit is having issues. Running my 3090 in my HTPC build off a SF750w unit and no complaints, 700w unit prior to that, abit only 9900k at stock in the rig. Also did fine with my AXi 1600w unit in main rig, but to be expected.

i'm running a fully oc'd 5950x (4.65ghz) and undervolting a 3090 as a manual oc makes the card hit power limit and then down clocks below 18000mhz. but i've noticed latley when i run 3dmark my pc locks up and has started to switch off so i suspect my psu is acting up :(, temps on cpu and gpu are well within limits too as i suspected something was getting hot, but upon checking everything has plenty of thermal headroom (custom loop 2*360mm pe ek rads)
