NVIDIA 4000 Series

It's clear that at this stage the game is a resource hogging unoptimized mess.

You can get 60fps, just need a 4090 and play at 1080p

but in all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised if we find out in the next couple weeks why it's bringing systems to their knees.

No no, it's clearly just not enough vram:

720p low settings and still get the 5-10 second FPS tanks to under 20fps.

32GB here.

Just catching up on the game thread, apparently even issues at 720P.

@NightSt@lk3r you should have bought a 24gb gpu to play at 720p, it's not the game, clearly your hardware at fault....

Why is this game even on Unreal Engine 4 not 5 ? From my googling it states Unreal Engine 4 why couldn't they have just used the latest engine on it before release ? Unreal Engine 4 has been broken since release on pc with stutter issues from what I remember, have they actually even fixed that yet on UE4?

These sort of titles that a large part of the gaming community want are going to seriously damage pc gaming at this rate if this is the performance on high end gpus and a 3070 is not old and should be running these titles fine at 1440p at least not 15fps at 1080p.. Geeze really the whole industry is self sabotaging themselves now from software to hardware.. Just wait for streaming services to push it's cheaper to stream than buy hardware as streaming will always allow 60fps/120fps.. not these low fps on two year old hardware.

The greed is real... I thought it couldn't get worse.. Not sure how many patches are going to help this game and other recent releases with poor performance or worse poor game in general and so called AAA titles..
It's never down to vram though, always some other excuse right, right???

It'll no doubt get patched to auto downgrade textures to stay within budget.

Or it'll get tweaked so that vram/texture/asset is properly handled/switched/managed i.e. called optimisation, which is clearly lacking if people are having issues at 720p too.......

Unless you think that vram usage @ 1080P should be the same as 4k vram usage (which just to highlight shouldn't be happening if you know anything about how vram usage scales with your resolution)

I don't get why these RT discussions are even happening. It wasn't long ago that we all decided 60fps was trash and 100+ was essential. Surely that puts RT firmly in the "literally unplayable" camp?

RT is fine if you have the headroom eg hitting strong FPS numbers without RT. Hogwarts your non-RT FPS is already **** so turning it on will further reduce your already tiny FPS.

The goalposts changed when ps5 and series x came out.

I remember when people here used to downplay ps4 games because of checkerboarding. Now look at pc. Two grand and you need a bunch of techniques to get good fps.

This is the future of pc gaming guys. People will say its stronger than ever but they fail to mention its strong due to fortnite, league of legends, counter strike and cod. :p
