NVIDIA 4000 Series

Well, so it turns out we can't upgrade to 4070/Ti/4080 without being accused of getting played but becoming a full-on knob and playing into nvidia's trap of conveniently pricing the cards so high that people just get the the most expensive one is reasonable:P
Anyone buying a 4000 series is a mug to an extent, get over it.

And I'm saying that as someone who refuses to pay retail.

It's just salty AMD fanboys trolling. AMD has done the exact same thing with their line up except there you get janky FSR VS better than native DLSS, worse RT, worse power efficiency and dodgy drivers as reported by HUB in the 7800XT VS 4070 review. That's a good enough reason for many gamers to go Nvidia. And a 4070 which is 3080 class at 180 watts at just over £500 is a solid buy.

£500 for 3 year old performance isn’t a good deal. 3080s can be had for £300 used now with better performance. I know clearly who got played! :D

I think some went from 3080 to 4070 just for the lower power and dlss3 and paying around £580 for it

3080s were for mining and boy did they make a tidy sum. Sold it on as too hot/noisy and power hungry and went 3060ti and now the best mid ranger the 4070. And people going on about three year old performance, go troll the 7800xt lol. A card that still gets beat of the 6800xt in some games

Ive had 3080/3060ti/3070 in the past so yeah I know about mining and kept the 3080 have not the slightest of interest in getting the 4070 and giving nvidia what they want and feel like a mug

both are terrible but if I had to choose Id go with the 7800xt over the 4070 thats only my opinion

Tbf the 4070 gets beat by the 3080, 6800XT and 7800XT in most games and considering a 70 usually delivers the previous gens top performance the 4070 is well down on that despite the £100 msrp increase.
