NVIDIA 4000 Series

Not worth buying any 3080 now in less then 6 month's from now it's going to look so slow, paying double at retail prices is just mental I agree lol.

Only people requiring top end 4000 series cards are those on 4k & high hz or UW-QHD, otherwise current line up of 3080 and above, and 6800XT and above, will do for any resolutions below.

Seeing people with 3090's on 1080p is quite something :D

I have 1440p 240hz screen and currently have 3080 , only very few games max it out will be interesting what the newer cards can do :)

Yeah would have loved a 3080 a year ago, but now it's going to be a 4070 or 4080 in my new build in 2023, the 3060Ti will stay in my 5 yr old rig, can't wait to benchmark the new card.
Game at 1440P so be good for another five year's hopefully, will need some real powerful games to slow down the 4000 series.

haha  I've checked benchmarks and it only works out few fps difference aint gonna notice when the fps is already high , considering the price difference like double

Actually I could have had a bottom tier 3080 Ti such as a (Vision or KFA2) for £100 LESS than my Strixx 3080.

I decided 2-3 FPS difference between 3080 12GB and 3080 Ti is so small that I won't notice a difference. However I will be much happier with owning the STRIX because of it's a fantastic build quality, excellent cooler, good factory overclock, large power limit increase, and good fan settings! :p

Got myself 3060Ti FE in last weeks drop, will be good enough till the 4000 series is released.

6 months if your VERY lucky. Could be more like 8-12 months. Also another way of looking at it is you could just get the best 3000 card now and skip the 4000 series completely and wait for the 5000 series in 2024. Now that will be a REAL generational leap!

better of undervolting and increase peformance over stock :), overclocking just increases power use and doesnt translate much in performance . I myself would love the suprim x have it vertically mounted in case but having to settle for 3080fe for £649 I think I can live with that maybe next gen might get one release day all depends on price

the strix and suprim are my favorite AIB's

I thought the TUF was the winner this round. I decided against the Strix due to the 3x8pin. The only reason I went with the OC was that it was a little more expensive, hence I had a better chance of getting one.

To be fair there isn't much fps difference between any of the 3080 (10GB, 12GB, Ti) series. Measurable yes, noticable - no. (Except in the wallet).

Original 3080 only drawered about 350 watts. New 12GB version + the 3080 Ti can draw up to 450Watts or more so having 3x8pin on the Strix is an advantage when it comes to overclocking. 2x8pin cards such as TUF are power-limited. Not a big deal if you don't plan to overclock (i'll probably undervolt myself) but it's nice to have options hence I went with Strix over Tuf.

Actually there is a 7% performance difference between old 3080 and the new 3080 12GB which equates to about 10fps gain in games which is decent. Add in an extra 2GB VRAM where everyone complained the original 3080 only had 10GB and you have a weapon.

Yeah, I run my 3080 at ~300W with a 900mV limit. Use something like CP2077 to test any undervolt you do as the RT usage can throw what was once a stable setting.

I once saw a flying saucer with little green men inside. Nobody would believe me either :p

just look on the 30xx Series Founders Edition thread here :)
I know plenty that have got the FE cards actually got 2 using mates info for the other, you just need to setup properly join alert groups and complete it all on the phone, still in the groups but do feel the drops are less now used to drop 1-2 per month

you can easily get the 3080ti £1049 and 3090 £1399 drops they stay instock at times for hours

If you think 10fps is worth it, or 7% for 100% more cost.

Out of interest, what resolution do you game at? 1080p 1440p UW or 4k?
