You obviously haven't seen the Xbox series s toaster with branded toastYeah well, those particular items don't have the 'FOMO Sucker' factor in play.
Indeed me too, I had the money 10 x over for a 4090, I refuse on principle, to refuse to be part of the problem and reason we have rising prices. Not just a rich man's game, I have plenty of disposable income and I won't touch these cards at these prices.
As Jensen said himself last year they've reduced how many products they're selling into the market. But yet, they sell so quickly. I honestly dont get it.
Jensen said:Yeah. Thanks, Colette. C.J., our sell-through is off the highs in the beginning of the year, but it's still very solid. In fact, sell-through is -- has increased 70% since pre-COVID, pre-pandemic.
And so it's very clear that gaming is -- the fundamentals of gaming are strong, and this medium is really doing well. Not to mention, the gaming platforms are being used -- our Gaming PCs are being used for influencers, people sharing content, creating content, vloggers, VTubers, there's all kinds of new ways of engaging and spending time with video games. And our strategy is to reduce the sell-in, reduce the sell-in this quarter or next quarter, to let channel inventory correct. Obviously, we're off the highs, and the macro condition turned sharply worse.
And so our first strategy is to reduce sell-in in the next couple of quarters to correct channel inventory. We've also instituted programs to price-position our current products to prepare for next-generation products. Ampere is the most popular GPU we've ever created. It is in the top 15 most popular gaming GPUs on Steam.
And it remains the best GPUs in the world, and it will be very successful for some time. However, we do have exciting new next-generation coming and it's going to be layered on top of that. And so we've taken two -- we've done two things. We've reduced sell-in to let channel inventory correct, and we've implemented programs with our partners to price-position the products in the channel in preparation for our next generation.
All of this, we anticipate, were working toward a path to being in a good shape going into next year, OK? So that's what our game plan is.
Likewise. It's just getting ludicrous.Indeed me too, I had the money 10 x over for a 4090, I refuse on principle, to refuse to be part of the problem and reason we have rising prices.
Am the same could get one and not miss the money one bit , but feels like Nvidia are pulling our pants down on the 4000 cards ,this why I am still on a 3070 but saying that I had my pants pulled down on the Vram on the 4070 lol. So think I will just get 3070 super for abit more Vram .Indeed me too, I had the money 10 x over for a 4090, I refuse on principle, to refuse to be part of the problem and reason we have rising prices.
If the 5080 is at least 30% above the 4090, and no more than £900 I will buy it. If the 5090 is 50+% above the 4090 and no more than £1500 I will consider that too. But more like the 5080, as I expect because the performance gains will be smaller this coming nextgen, they will do the same as with the 30xx series, and the cards will be stacked closer together in performance, the 5080 will NO WAY be as cut down from the 5090 as we saw with the 4080 and 4090. I think this will also apply to the rest of the stack down to the 5060.Am the same could get one and not miss the money one bit , but feels like Nvidia are pulling our pants down on the 4000 cards ,this why I am still on a 3070 but saying that I had my pants pulled down on the Vram on the 4070 lol. if the rumors are true about AMD bringing a $500 GPU offering 4080 performance,
Yeah it’s just been a marketing exercise from Nvidia to fool people into thinking they are getting some kind of deal when the reality is that for the last few months the 4080 has been at these prices anyway and not been selling. Also they are priced just the same as the 4080 AIBs all the 4080s AIBs and most more cut down components or coolers not as good or some other issue.. Then you have the ones with better coolers that are basically same msrp as the 4080 on release.. Nothing has changed it's basically the same scam with a Super added to it.
The prices of the 4080 were down at the levels they priced the 4080S at anyways and could be found cheaper on sale days. Only real change is the colour of the FE card and less components on the card from a 4080 FE.. NVIDIA..............
Both are going to be expensive and Intel isnt going to save the day as they see the potential £££ but its what 10 years to late as people have continued to push pricing up to the levels its at now and constant whinging by some about pricing is kinda derailing/killing discussions on here and its having little to no effect to get card prices to drop.I never once said it was good value though did? I am not to sure moaning about pricing non stop is the answer though, next gen from both brands are still going to be expensive
For me I'm paying £350 a month for three months, then I'm going to sell my RTX 3070 TI EVGA FTW!
Yes it's a lot and to be honest I'd rather not spend that much but I haven't treated myself like this for a very long time. Considering how bad 2023 was I thought you know what *** it, I'm going to treat myself. Also so annoying that everytime I've bought a GPU previously - 2070 super / 3070 TI it's always lagging behind in the games I really want to play. So I went the full hog. The RTX 4090 was just too much, plus I'd have to upgrade my PSU and I'm not even running 4K. Just widescreen OLED
4080 performance is the high end of Arc Battlemage rumours. And Battlemage is expected this mid-year. If Intel get modestly near 4080 performance for that sort of money that will really set the cat among the pigeons.
A 7800XT is an ok option under £500 but if you can wait then you’ll be able to pick up 4080 supers used for under £500 next year.Sticking with the 2070s at 1440p for now. I've a steam/epic back catalogue to catch up with rather than play the latest games. Will now wait to see next gen of cards and won't pay more than £500 for a luxury item.
I don't know if I’d waste £500 on being an Intel beta tester, especially if it releases mid year. At that point just wait for the next Nvidia or AMD series. If Intel can pull off 4080-like performance for around the £500 mark they'll be onto a winner and it'll make both AMD and Nvidia look like even bigger greedy festering a-holes.
