NVIDIA 4000 Series

Hopefully one day this guy will have enough YouTube money for shampoo and a haircut

I swear that guys voice sounds altered. How the **** does one have a voice like that?

I don't watch these channels any more. You and others summarise them well enough here. But back when I did watch a couple of his videos it felt like a case of this guy doesn't mince his words

After previously owning a 4090 FE (sold within OCUK MM) and now a 4080 Super FE, I make the following observations.

The 4090 is an absolute monster. It ripped through all games I played on an ultra-wide OLED. It was quite literally overkill for my needs, which is why it moved on.

The 4080 Super is a mini monster. At ultra-wide it gives ~75% of 4090 performance for ~60% of the price (£959 Vs £1579). With the £200 price cut from the non-super model, it is now the better choice for me and many gamers.

Apart from satin black trim on the 4080 FE, both 4090 & 4080 FE's share identical coolers and PCB's. They are built like tanks, run cool and quiet,
produce no noticeable coil whine and overclock really well. They are high-performance pieces of art.

Went out of stock a few minutes ago but the 4090 FE has been lowered to £1519, A dramatic saving of 50 quid. Nvidia are being hyper generous...
Probably can get the same performance in 10 months for £700 in the RTX 5070 or 5070ti (with likely 16gb vram) version.

Not worth spending £1500 this late in the generation life cycle.

5070 will likely be closer to £1000, Nvidia have seen people will pay anything.

If they do that they can stick it where the sun don't shine. I think I would just keep what I got and grab a steamdeck 2 eventually and call it a day.

I have spent a lot more time on my Steamdeck than my pc lately, so I know it would not be hard to do.

What I could also do is let a few must play titles build up that my card cannot run at settings I want. Grab the gpu I would need. Play them and sell the gpu on for a similar price I got it a few months later :p

What I won't ever do is pay £1000 for a 5070. No, just no... Just the principle of it. And I think Nvidia know this anyway.
