Of course, the launch price will be pretty much irrelevant for the vast majority of people who will want one, given that they will likely be almost impossible to actually buy for the first 6mths or so after release.

Maybe not the full chip, possibly in between for the 4090Ti. They got a lot of grief for the small uplifts at the higher end of the 3000 series. I expect the differences will greater this time.
 
They aint shifting them, pricing was boosted due to miners buying all the inventory. You telling me they are asking £1300 for a 4080 and say 900 for a 4070, no chance. Market is about back to normal, ridiculous pricing is over.

Yeah, for FE prices maybe. No chance AIB’s will be charging that imo.

I reckon it will be a little more expensive than that but not by much more .. I'm think £50-£100 on top of the prices quoted for the FE models with the AIB coming in at a few hundred more so if a 4090FE is £1500 then a 4090 Strix / FTW3 will be going for around £1900 to £2000 and these are the models that will more than likely have a 600W bios option but yeah hopefully the ridiculous pricing from earlier this gen never rears its ugly head again as you are quite right that mining is most definitely on its last legs for ETH and GPU are in stock everywhere .. Ebay is flooded with any card you want at the minute:cry:
 
They can't just wack whatever we had the perfect storm last time , also people seem to forget AMD are now also competing

My guess 4080 FE will be £700-£750 no idea about AIB guess depends what they can get away with
 
I've become a little cynical over the last couple of years, so I'm expecting £900+ for the 4080. Mining, ongoing chip shortage, inflation, etc
 
Sounding more hopeful I'll be able to put a 4080 into my existing setup with an 850W PSU, how much of a bottleneck the 3700x would be remains to be seen, or even if it would be worth selling a 3080 Ti for a 4080 taking into £/performance
 
Weren't all the performance rumours about the RTX 3000 series completely wrong?

Nobody knew about the doubling of Single Float performance, for example.

I doubt anyone thought the RTX 3080 would have 10GB of VRAM. Or that the RTX 3090 would have 24GB.

How come anyone still believes any of the rumours?

Also, isn't the RTX 4000 called 'Ampere Next'? Which strongly implies an improvement of Ampere built on 5nm, rather than a new architecture.

The trouble with fancy sounding codenames, is that tend to lead to a lot of hype and misinformation.
