NVIDIA 4000 Series

This level of demand? I don’t believe it. Short term yeah, but it won’t take long for cards to be on the shelf and in stock because there’s only so many people that will pay 2k for a GPU.

Ignore last comment, I was talking more about opening day prices continuing to rise exponentially and people still buying, whereas you're discussing the near future sales of this gen.

I'd keep the monitor for the last part of your post tbh and wait for a 4K 120 or above OLED ultrawide. There isn't another monitor on the market that I'd now consider that can beat the AW3423DW for picture quality, pixel response and all round a great package. So whilst your 4090 will ve overkill for 3440x1440, even at 175Hz, you have loads of room to upgrade the display down the line and for now the 4090 will run quieter and cooler.
Good call, probably overthinking it,

Hmm the trinity non OC only has a 3x8pin to 12v cable............Bet the power limit on that is locked at 450w. The trinity OC version has the 4x8pin cable.

That is interesting, what are performance implications of that?

It might be overkill now, but soon there will be new games that will add even more RT or other stuff, which will murder FPS even on 4090. :)

Wont make any difference. The fastest overclocked card in reviews was one bios locked to only 475W so its just a silicon lottery as per the last series. 600w might get you an extra 1fps if you got a good chip or it still might be slower than somebody elses 475W card

Ah yes, indeed…I don’t see any change anytime soon. We’ve all been screwed in to accepting these price points. It’s so ridiculous they’ve managed to convince many of us that at £1699 the FE looks ‘good value’.

Can you dumb this down? I saw a video, might have been Gamers NExus and they OC the card and it was drawing 666.6w. Do you think they got sent a binned one on purpose?

Also, if it is locked to 450w, I really don't need to worry about getting a 1200W PSU do I.

Yeah I went for it for 5 year warranty and the general nice shape of the card. Wasn't aware it had less power cables than all the other basic cards. We shall see.

It runs at 2/3 of its potential. Lol

C’mon is that rhetorical?!

3x8pin=450w
PCIe slot=75w
Total 525w board power

HUB tested the FE model for power efficiency. Running at 2K ultra total SYSTEM power was at 545w. GPU peak power 472w. Clearly more than enough. 4090 is more efficient than anything came before especially if you frame limit it…

Well its safe to say PC Gaming is massive and isn't going anywhere anytime soon and it also shows that the UK peeps are more than happy to Hand Nvidia over 2K for a Graphics card, Yes it sucks not to get a card but on the positive note its a fantastic card for 4k gamers.

i am absolutely gobsmacked

many ppl on this forum:

oh dont worry, mining over, there will be plenty 4090 cards to buy

The system has been WIPED clean of all 4090 GPU's

As I was monitoring top 5 websites, they were out within 60 mins

The asus strix I had in my basket as a few places wiped in the 1st 10 mins, @ 2400 quid

Im sorry but this is another 30 series poor release, NOT ENOUGH TO GO AROUND

Now check auction, 10+ ppl watching 3k listings, ppl making 500 quid that quick n easy

As terrible as it is, I think if the manufacturers had enough then this madness would not happen.

Thats all folks.
I have to say I am somewhat surprised because company financial reports have shown massively declining demand due to the cost of living crisis, particularly in terms of discretionary income. However, I suppose if you are willing to spend this much on a GPU you are probably not affected.
