NVIDIA 4000 Series

Can someone explain to me my I am seeing consistent issues at 1080p and 1440p with the 4090? It is not in every game but it's in a enough games to show an obvious trend.
Even good ole Far Cry 6 is a problem on the 4090. A game I thought would have scored multiple times over the 3090. But here we are.
This does not look like a cpu limitation/bottleneck issue any more but something else going on.
Whatever the issue is I wonder if the Ti version will fix it?

Brain is able to adjust to many things. When I was able to reach 30FPS max back in the day, it felt right to me. Now I can't stand it. Then I had 60FPS and it felt almost too smooth but now it feels jarring as brain got used to seeing 90FPS smoothens and refuse to cooperate with 60. :) It's not instant, takes few days but then you feel like you can't go back to the previous state anymore. That said, I wouldn't compare it to soap opera effect, as that one is done by fake frames which cause lots of visual artefacts and have horrible frame pacing - it's really uncomfortable to watch it. However, proper frame pacing and high refresh rate on a computer is very different and feels much better.

That said agreed on the input latency - best human reaction ever recorded is 13ms and that's for visual stimulus. Input lag of 10ms difference is below that threshold and there's no human alive that would be able to notice that difference. However, difference of 20ms and higher can be felt by best trained and young e-sport players I reckon.

People absolutely CAN tell the difference in input lag of 10ms.
We are not talking about 10ms full stop but additional 10ms.
Most FPV quad pilots including me can tell the difference between 120fps and 60fps DJI camera and the difference is exactly 10ms between them.
My 6 years old oled TV received an update at one point which reduced input lag in game mode by 7ms and I could definitely tell the difference.

How long was it until the 3090Ti FE models became obtainable? I've read they like to put them in stock at 2 am every now and again which only scalpers will get. Im only looking for a an FE this time as I Pre ordered an FE water block thinking this year they got their **** together.
At least when a new iPhone comes out you know you can get one, but it seems these things are as hard to get as winning the lottery.
Apple doesn't try to push out old iPhones for high prices, though, whilst holding back new ones on release day. :)

The bracket came with the card

If I set the bracket height to support the card I can slide it in and out and the GPU only sags maybe 1-2mm
it takes 0 force to get it back under the card, I don't think it's really needed.

There was a mouse matt int he box too

Normal small size one though so I'll never use it but it has some weight to it and seems good quality.
should be for the price the card cost though

Wonder if any other brands include the bracket? Don’t know if we should be worried, the 4090’s are some size though.

This shouldn't happen especially after 3000 series debacle, and having to find out through a forum on an order status is ridiculous.

Not really surprising though. I also detect the same hype over the 4090 that was around at the launch of the 4080. Having said that, I doubt very much whether it will last. I can't believe that there are vast numbers of people out there willing to spend £2300+ on a video card. I think this is just the overnight queue at the store for the launch, and will did down fairly quick. Course there could also be some stupid scalpers about. I say stupid because I can't believe that many will make a huge profit on a card that launches at £2300.

weird but other reviewers said more differences

Some games and/or engines have hard cap on FPS irrelevant of the CPU (FC6 seems to be such game) - for whatever reason devs had to do that (physics sync etc.).

The issue is with the reviewers not knowing what they are doing. TPU tests in cpu bound places.

I kind of get the same, if I bump a game to 60fps it will feel a bit weird at first but then adjust within 30-60 mins, then if I drop back down feels weird but then I adjust within 30-60 mins. Just could never accept 120 though, for some reason I just dont take to it.

Yeah, very unhappy with this turn of events. Bought in the store with showing as in stock.
Also the fact that the website can't handle a decent amount of traffic which caused customers a lot chew trying to order is unacceptable. Ocuk reallly need to bring them selves up to date in customer order handling and stock allocation.

I have no idea how I did it in the past, but I was able to play Doom very well with just 7-10FPS on average... I mean, these days I couldn't even aim at things with such FPS. :D

I noticed on ff7 remake they actually change the mechanics depending on framerate you choose but didnt document it, e.g. at 30fps level 2 limit breaks you have to watch a cinematic cut scene before the move is done, and if the enemy is in a stagger state (temporary vulnerability) that time ticks away during the cinematic. I noticed a bunch of streamers seemingly getting round this and wondered how, but when I boosted the game I noticed the cinematic no longer plays, not only that all moves are executed quicker, so they actually sped up pace of the game as well to tune it to a different style of player.

This makes me feel so much better about buying the Strix OC
Its a shame they are so limited by voltage as basically they are all nigh on identical performance wise , at least with the 3090 Strix it had a noticeable uplift over a3090 FE in benchmarks but is what it is this Gen and capped by voltage not power
