NVIDIA 4000 Series

Its a shame they are so limited by voltage as basically they are all nigh on identical performance wise , at least with the 3090 Strix it had a noticeable uplift over a3090 FE in benchmarks but is what it is this Gen and capped by voltage not power
Surely the way is to do it der bauer style, save 30% on energy/heat etc. for a mere 10% performance loss? (less then that loss in games)

i am absolutely gobsmacked

many ppl on this forum:

oh dont worry, mining over, there will be plenty 4090 cards to buy

The system has been WIPED clean of all 4090 GPU's

As I was monitoring top 5 websites, they were out within 60 mins

The asus strix I had in my basket as a few places wiped in the 1st 10 mins, @ 2400 quid

Im sorry but this is another 30 series poor release, NOT ENOUGH TO GO AROUND

Now check auction, 10+ ppl watching 3k listings, ppl making 500 quid that quick n easy

As terrible as it is, I think if the manufacturers had enough then this madness would not happen.

Thats all folks.

It won’t continue. There’s only so many people prepared to pay this kind of money for a GPU. And they are the people that jump on it from day one, so the initial demand isn’t surprising.

All true, but the point is NVIDIA most likely has much much bigger stock than this. They seem to be limiting release on purpose. Either to justify even higher prices soon enough, or to push people towards 3k series that they want to get rid off, or for any other reason. Artificial scarcity.

Yeh several on here said they wouldn't sell out, lol.
60 mins in stock? I was on a few sites, afaik all apart from OC were OOS in about 10 mins. I think OC lasted longer because people couldn't order due to the website crashing.
The FE was gone in seconds.

how many is "so many"? 1000, 2000 5000?

regardless i reckon at this rate, with current stock levels and replenishment speed, it will take at least 3 months before everyone gets their slice of cake, in the meantime if your hungry then you will end up paying a scalper his fees.

Its a disgrace

Hence why I spent 2 hours prepping just to buy a piece of tech on release, what about the remainder who want one but cant get one barbecue above....

The 4090 will be £700 in the MM after two years. The depreciation is insane. Mind you, the target market has an insane wage so that wont matter.
dat correcto

I bought my 3090ti only 7 months ago at double rrp

I now have to sell at -50-60%

Same thing will happen with the 4090 no doubt, after 2 years, but at least Ive used the latest and greatest for 2 years

My 3090ti purchase was a dumb move, but I sold my 3080ti for 1500 so wasnt much to add on.

now im gonna flog my 3090ti for a monkey.

for 4k or 1440P? I have 3090 ti,the same double prize 5 months ago lol

Doesn’t really matter how long it takes.

No one needs a 4090, whatever you’re using before the 4090 came out is still ok to use after the 4090 came out.

Got people moaning they can’t buy a 4090 but they’re currently using a 3090Ti to play games at 1440p, they’ll continue to play the same games at the same resolution but pay £2000+ for the privilege of it.

Oh no, won't you think of all the people who can't immediately get a 4090......mebbe a gofundme page?

I misunderstood; I thought you ordered a 4090 hence me asking. You may have seen my post in the Dell thread, now I am 'worrying' if the monitor is enough or if I should use a 4K120, like you I'd prefer 34-38 size. Let's face it, this card for 2K UWD isn't really doing it justice, although I guess if it doesn't break a sweat then it will be quiet which is a bonus.
I'd keep the monitor for the last part of your post tbh and wait for a 4K 120 or above OLED ultrawide. There isn't another monitor on the market that I'd now consider that can beat the AW3423DW for picture quality, pixel response and all round a great package. So whilst your 4090 will ve overkill for 3440x1440, even at 175Hz, you have loads of room to upgrade the display down the line and for now the 4090 will run quieter and cooler.

cards are not shifting on the bay, no miners, no excessive scalping profits.
not ture, since 3pm i put in my watch list 8 4090s at scalped prices, around 250 to 500 above RRP

Non of them are available now

Its people from abroad who buy them, then use global shipping to get their cards, you know they pay more than 100 to use that service, add the scalping, mostly ppl from middle east ect
