NVIDIA 4000 Series

why have they made the 30-40series card where the power connectors pop out the middle?

generally they are situated at the end of the card or on the far end exhaust intake, 10-20 series

that way its not interfering with window covers and you can hide the cables away
Because thats where the pcb ends.

It does but you have to remember as a % of market share that number is really small, imho (and I'll gladly admit it if I'm wrong) we will see the market fulfilled quite quickly. Yes it maybe 2months not 2weeks but that is relatively quick.
Compared to the 2 years we had with the 30 series

Does anyone know the stumpiest (length wise) 4090 off the top of their head? I'm looking at picking one up in the new year now but needs to fit in a 4000D with a thick 280mm rad installed on the front.

My 2nd 4090 has just shipped that I got this morning which is the one I wanted yesterday but missed out, Asus TUF OC.

My Zotac Amp Extreme will go in the members market if my mate doesn't want it.

Any consensus on what the "best" AIB card vs FE is - at or around the FE price I mean seeing as they all seem to be pretty much loaded to the max anyway. Thinking of the bog standard Zotac or the non X MSI Gaming Trio - maybe the Gigabyte, but orginally I was just going to go for the FE if/when I can get it. 5 year warrantly on the Zotac does seem appealing though, esp for resale value down the line.

I'm happy to wait and content-ish to pay c. the £1699, perhaps a little more, but I certainly won't be buying any scapler priced cards, especially not from supposedly "reputable" retailers...

For anyone who cares, the 4090 has been tested against two 3090's in SLI in the two or three games that still support SLI and the result is that a single 4090 is faster than two 3090's in SLI

Can you post the link pls, thanks. Because from the results of the games I saw that support that like shadow of the tomb raider and Red Dead Redemption the results without any dlss trickery was slower on a single 4090 than a pair of 3090s (I know from personal experience as you know about 3090s in sli). Them two games I saw benchmarks on a 4090 and was like still not faster than 2 x 3090s.

This shows there's many people willing to pay this price, no matter how much you don't want this to be true.
But are they willing to keep what they paid for? Currently, less than 24hrs after availability, there something like forty 4090's on the popular auction site and there seems to be people in this thread indicating them maybe returning their cards, retailers selling out is one thing, return rates is another as that's the true indication of how many people are willing to not only pay this price but to keep what they paid for.

Was watching 8 packs video yesterday and I'm sure whatever 4090 he tested was the smallest he could find. Can't remember the model though. 10-15mm longer than a 3090 I think he said.

Starmix? @Gibbo Tangfastics are the way forward.

Suprim X delivered, thxs for the quick turn around. Hope you bought the warehouse guys a pizza or something.

I have images of them sleeping in there living on starmix.

Those selling on ebay are known as scalpers. I can't speak for all private owners, though can state I'll be keeping/using my card until the next gen comes out :)

What are your plans? Genuinly curious why some are so interested in other people's purchases, motivations to buy, etc. Is your interest limited to high end GPU's, or do you do the same for high end TV's, golf clubs, washing machines etc?

idk what the best £1699 AIB is but i ended up with an MSI Gaming Trio (non X version) for this price, OC'ers want £2099 for the same card lol.

Inno3D iChill X3 model, one of the lightest and smallest cards, the cooler was still fantastic, think peak temperature was around 69c under load.
