NVIDIA 4000 Series

Quite a few on Ebay now, some from OCUK - not a surprise, but still annoying, Hopefully they don't sell, but I expect they will.
Only 5 have sold and at relatively close to retail (scalped) price. They'll sit for some time i reckon, people aren't desperate enough to go paying upwards of 3k for a 4090 right now.

It's hilarious seeing a few people in this thread constantly post that "people aren't buying the 4090's, they're available for 5, 10, 20 minutes!" - What are you trying to do with your time exactly?

What's clear is that OCUK sold over 1000 cards @ probably an average of £2k per card on launch day, and that stock on other sites all sells out too within 20 or 30 minutes. I'm sure OCUK would have sold double the cards if they had more stock.

This shows there's many people willing to pay this price, no matter how much you don't want this to be true.

Of course the fact cards are available for 20 minutes at all shows there aren't bots/miners swallowing up any cards this time around, instead there are gamers/professionals willing to pay the asked fee to own one of these cards.

there's on in stock still at other place that has water block coming soon
Yep, seen it.

Will have to wait until Nov for the block.

I may just wait it out until the blocks are available, as it stands the card will not fit my rig without having to re-jig the WC setup (res/pump combo & glass tubing).
Really can't be asked to do all the work until then.

The FE card would have been perfect.

Wonder if OCUK are going out their way to cancel scalper orders like they did with the 3 series, seen a few pop up this morning on the bay

On purpose yep, not due to any difficulty producing them I’m sure.

Probably to keep AIBs happy as there is very little to separate the founders from AIB cards which means their margins are impacted. Suspect linked to EVGA pulling out as well.

Unlikely, Gibbo mentioned it would be better to leave them and have them sitting at scalped prices so no one would buy them to prove a point. But he did mention any that was brough to his attention he would cancel too.

All is fair in business I guess, you will charge as much as your customers are willing to pay.

If it was my business, I guess I would do the same.

The demand is real, is a good time to be a GPU supplier for sure!

It does but you have to remember as a % of market share that number is really small, imho (and I'll gladly admit it if I'm wrong) we will see the market fulfilled quite quickly. Yes it maybe 2months not 2weeks but that is relatively quick.

why have they made the 30-40series card where the power connectors pop out the middle?

generally they are situated at the end of the card or on the far end exhaust intake, 10-20 series

that way its not interfering with window covers and you can hide the cables away
