NVIDIA 4000 Series

This is why people shouldn't buy a 4090 if they don't have the latest CPU

Stock 9900k vs RTX4090

And this is at native 4k resolution and it's an absolute mess, lag spikes and stuttering everywhere - you can't play games like this it would feel horrible

While that is a pretty bad one Valhalla benches are usually a stuttery mess, plenty of messy ones on this site on the link below. While I wouldn't recommend pairing a 4090 with a 9900k it really depends on the game.

That's unfortunate.
It wasn't til now that the CPU wasn't very important at higher resolutions.
Would variable refresh help smooth out those spikes?

LMAO ! You could say that about every CPU ! I bet even with the latest CPU it will do something similar.

Ha
Word of warning to anyone with the 4090 Aorus Master don't use custom gifs for the LCD display (Despite the control software saying you can do this) as this causes flickering that is almost impossible to fix. I'm going to re-format my hardrive to see if this can fix the problem but wouldn't wish this on anyone else!
Re-installed my entire hard drive and all drivers etc and still have this problem. Going to see it Gigabyte customer service know of a fix but apparently this is a known problem on previous gigabyte GPUs with lcd screens and it’s virtually impossible to fix without rma the card. If anyone has or is thinking of getting the 4090 master and want a custom gif don’t do it as not only will it mess up the display but mess up the stock display options you are given as well!

You saying that putting up a gif makes your monitor flicker?

mm...just looked on their website and it says there is an updated firmware which
is for fixing abnormal RGB behaviours. Maybe that fixes it.

No it makes the lcd display screen flicker, should have been clearer. Pretty disappointed as it was one of the reasons I bought this card over the other AIBs.

Ah ok.

Yeah gigabyte software is garbage, I used to own a 360mm gigabyte AIO cpu cooler, it has an lcd screen that's supposed to display system info like temp, clock speed etc. the issue I had was that everytime windows woke up from sleep, the screen would just go completely blank until I restarted the PC and 50% of the time on a restart the gigabyte software would fail to load properly and the screen would display an error message. So essentially about 80% of my time on my pc, the screen on the AIO would either display nothing at all or an error message
