NVIDIA 4000 Series

I’ve ordered the Corsair 600w cable. Estimated dispatch is mid November so not too long to wait in fairness.

What a shambles this 4000 launch has been though.
You could try out ModDIY for a drop-in replacement to the nvidia adapter in the mean time. They are a good alternative to CableMod and have fast shipping.

Not using this as ive already got a Cablemod but LOL , this is from a Zotac Trinity OC . I will say that i had no issues with it in the 2 weeks i was using it and connector shows NO sign of burning!

That would have burnt at some point. You were lucky.

Maybe , maybe not we will never know as its not going back in my system  id be happy to donate this to Steve for further testing but he is after ones that are melted and if i ever needed to rma the card for any reason then not sure if a missing plug would cause an issue :)

4090 arrived, massive expense and house insurance in doubt, Fire extigusiher

I have same card, wasn't impressed with the heatshrink on the 8 pin ends either. I have a big case but just the weight of the 4 8 pin ends and the PSU cables means it has a fair amount of weight on the connector also. I was surprised how small the 12pin actually is. Very thin metal connectors for the amount of power it needs to relay. Not an electrical engineer so what do I know. Imagine owners will be sent out a free new cable if it's an issue. Couldn't get an ATX 3.0 PSU so stuck with the 4 plug dongle for the time being on a 1200W Thermaltake.

Here is my unused cable from a launch day FE, I checked all wires are the same 105C 300V 14AWG.

Might cut the rubber bit away and have a look at the solder job.
