NVIDIA 4000 Series

Anyone on OCUK had a melted connector yet? Or does 5 cables world-wide on internet, probably from installation failure, or jamming in a narrow case make it a definitive absolute failure?

Anyone know anyone with a melted connector?

Just F1 as far as i know, it works with A Plagues tale.

Besides, dlss3 not really needed for 4k on f1 2022, i guess its only really needed for triple monitor setups.
 
Elsewhere in the EU, one store has "leaked" prices for the forthcoming 4080.

If Nvidia are going to give a kneejerk response to AMD's pricing from last night then this ain't it.

I am quite confident this is what NVIDIA wants - sell 4090, then a bit of 4080 as an addon and all 3k series, before they release overpriced 4k series for lower shelves on the market. Problem is for them, that AMD with announced prices just threw big spanner in their gear.

Well if that's what they want I wish they would actually make some more FE available then

Huhh ? is that right you can't use HDR with FG enabled is that an F1 thing or all HDR games ? I know you can't use G-Sync and Vsync and use it FG with VR too.. That's a new one one me too... Wonder what else it won't allow and if these things will ever be fixed or even able to be fixed due to the nature of the tech.

They should. I have been waiting for one for a while, as I refuse to pay even just £100 more (like Palit ones available in OCUK and other places since yesterday), especially that most AIB are ugly as hell and overpriced for nothing in this case. Buuuut, never happened. No invite to buy one in the app either. And after AMD presentation last evening, I'll wait to see test results of RX 7900XTX instead - huge price difference and might be good enough for me. And then good luck to NVIDIA selling old 3k series after 13th of Dec.

Linus in the latest vid said they're testing extensively now in their lab DLSS 3 FG and (he made quite a disapproving face here) it's clearly a first gen tech. I take it as meaning lots of issues and far from ideal, with likely something like DLSS 4 coming next gen to fix it.

Yes best to wait for an FE if you can.
I got lucky on the drop a few weeks ago. That telegram thing was few minutes late but my discord channel alerted staright away :)
Everyone's on the telegram so got no chance when that works.
 
4090 (including FE) is a luxury product. If I spill out that much of cash, I expect it to be available, good warranty etc. - and not fight with other people to get one, waiting 24/7 for alert to show up etc. That feels like fighting for scraps instead of feeling joy for getting luxury product. Ergo, I refuse to participate in that.
By the way, if someone missed it, these are available in OCUK (and not only) since yesterday (or longer): https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pali...dr6x-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-06x-pl.html - not much more over MSRP, just ugly as hell. Also, no vapor chamber in this one, higher models have it. This one has just copper plate instead.
