NVIDIA 4000 Series

If its 60% faster including RT then that is something. Interested in the power draw and size of coolers they will be using.

It was the same story for flight simulator since day one with the original version to the latest versions, we always wanted more graphics and cpu power for that "game" and all its mods and addons that could cripple it without a good pc. It was always my main reason for decades to update to the latest and greatest hardware and we are back to that with the latest version of it and with a few other titles like the one you mention too :).

I always enjoyed such titles that made you love them that much that you would go out and spend more on hardware for them and the addons over the years.

I've morphed into grumpy auld bugger myself now and I agree, I don't have time for click baiting headlines that are just for advertising click revenue and have little basis in facts.

Yes sadly getting to that stage now, this December 50 years old... damn time flies. Tired of clickbait and time wasting made up stories to get add revenue for clicks, the new world we techies created for these monsters lol.:cry:

One of the beauties of the internet is the ability to filter it out. My Google news feed now seems to know I don't want to know about football and any other sites I don't like/not interested in. Steadily weeding out most of the nonsense. The fact it works says more about consumers than the tech. Time for a remake of Idiocracy, I think it would be even more relevant now, nothing better than be laughed at to get people to change their ways :cry:

If it is 60% faster, I will be interested. I am glad I skipped this gen of cards at the stupid prices and looking on auction sites with miners trying desperately to offload their investment brings a smile to my face. I beg we don't have to go through that again soon.

Pretty much this, Jay will be right 4000 launch day will sell out as well. If Nvidia do manage to get more stock, it doesnt mean they will allocate it all right away, they will want people queuing to buy the cards to maximise sale price.

I bet they'd love to sell on launch day silent auction style and and get the maximum cash they can from the richer and impatient customers. Hopefully that day will never come!

Nail on the head. I#ve never seen NVidia/AMD give away that much performance before. If they did manage those perf gains, there would be some hand rubbing and the opportunity to make a generation or two to drip feed the performance whilst making more money.

If it is true it would be win win for consumer. Biggest perf was offered by the 1080ti in more recent times, cant see 4000 series offering up waht people are saying now 4070 beating 3090 etc for cheap. I hope it's true, just cant see it.

GPU launches always sell out on day one with patchy stock for the following 6 weeks or so but the difference last time was less supply due to covid and then crypto kicked off.

This time around though supply should be better while the crypto bear market will discourage miners or gamers who want an another card or two on the side to make some extra cash and this in turn will reduce what people are will to pay scalpers.

Would be worth it for SC, imagine getting a constant above 60fps frame rate. It would all depend on the price though, now that they know what people are willing to pay they could hike the prices up pretty high and still get away with it.

As soon as the 2080ti sold out at £1,400 they realised that there was no figurative £1,000 barrier and enthusiasts would buy no matter what the price.

Indeed. I still think AMD are being underestimated this round. If they are lower power and offer better rasterization I'll go for it. Have to see what uplift I can get over a 3060Ti and what it will cost me.
