NVIDIA 4000 Series

No FE drop in the UK, it's all Spain, France and Germany drops. I can add to basket on every single region.
yeah they all dropped yesterday , will be interesting to see what happens when we get a UK drop as stock seems to be selling going by this site and the main competitor who sell FE .

My guess is it'll be different for the UK drop; they'll sell out in seconds again.
UK seems to still have a shortage of the 4090, but it will dry out shortly as with the rest of the world. 4090 "copped" posts on reddit and such have basically started to fade out, they won't be able to keep this up for long. If they want to sell cards they will have to drop prices.

Price on new and used cards is out of whack imo , people are quite happy to buy used 3080 for £550 -£600 and 3080Ti for £750- £800 ... while the price of used cards is so high its not helping new prices come down to much . Both prices need to drop imo but at the end of the day still leaves you with the same amount to pay out when you do upgrade so say a 4080 was £800 a 3080 should cost no more than £300-£350 now but that's not whats happening .
You're right they are both crazy but its the new prices on current cards pushing up the second hand prices. If we stop buying new and Nvidia reduce prices it will cause second hand to drop as well.

Hmm did not think the used prices were so high still, maybe I will just keep this for a bit longer. Whilst the price diff after a used sale would amount to a few hundred more, I still don't think it's justifiable to put that extra cost into Nvidia's pockets on a card that is way overpriced than what its performance says it should be at current prices.

Agree both are out of place for what they are ... the people this will really effect is someone who hasn't got a GPU currently but for anyone that has a 3080/ti/3090 etc then the price to do the upgrade should roughly remain the same if we have a price reducton on the 4080 and will still be aorund £400 to upgrade . I actually done this with my own card so had a 3090 Strix which i sold for £1100 and purchased a 4090 FE at £1700 cost to upgrade £600 .... personally i was happy to pay that for the uplift in performance and have never looked back . If i had a 3080 that i got for £650 probably mined a load of ETH on and payed for itself then someone said to me 2 years later i will give you £600 for that .. i would bite their arm off and put the rest towards an upgrade

I have a feeling were in for price drops on the 4090s during december, maybe in january. I mean the 7900 is very close in performance and the price difference makes it an easy choice.

i'd be surprised if they don't... it would be so arrogant to not do so.

@Major774 To play devil’s advocate, the 3090FE launched at £1399

If you pop £1399 into a UK inflation calculator here then £1399 back in October 2020 would be £1691 today so with the price cut it’s technically now cheaper in real terms than the 3090 was. Of course one could very well argue the msrp for the 3090 was over priced back then too, and post mining/pandemic it’s even more so…

Obviously the 4080 has a long way to fall to match previous gen.
Now how many people got a 20% pay rise in the same time frame without moving jobs?

The 3080 was very close to the performance of the 3090 yet they still sold every 3090 they could make at double the price of the 3080.

"Value" doesn't apply to the top-end card. There'll always be those who'll buy the best whatever the cost. Even if AMD get within 90% of the 4090 (which they won't), people will still spend 50% more for the NVidia card.

TBF, the 3090 was an amazing workstation card. I know that 3D artist were all over them. I saw a £10,000 workstation PC build that was rocking dual 3090. The CPU was worth more than both 3090s combined. Maybe the RAM aswell.

The GPU market is like a Mexican stand off right now between manufacturers and the consumer.

It seems 4070 Ti is coming out early Jan. Depending on the price that could be the card I go for. Supposedly the 4070 is on a par with the 3090 so the Ti should be little higher.

Considering the 4070 isn't out yet and has no release date, I can't see the ti version launching Jan.

I don't think it is possible for the 4070 to be on par with a 3090 unless it is on the GA103 die.

It’s speculative but 5th Jan is the expected date.
