NVIDIA 4000 Series

Shh, dont talk of semi's woodsta will be bobbing up! ;)

There were about a dozen to be fair but most of it was apparently in jest (definitely a couple had more than an interstellar conniption though). One downgraded, upgraded testing out nearly all the range ;) but most of that was just 'banter'.

You surely must remember Matthew. It wasn't that long ago? there was more than enough, 'no issues here' the prediction was the 10gb is enough tribe would be the first to ditch the post. Seems to be holding true.

We all remember the "its my money.." origins, but truth be told its none of my business who buys what but if you **** the 3090 then buy a 4090 you don't have a leg to stand on tbh.
I remember well, just couldn't remember if Kelt was one of the sinners, I suspect he may have been at least a part time sinner. :D

just fitted my 4090 FE, was lucky to get it, took my wallet to work for once for another reason and just noticed they were in stock wednesday afternoon and grabbed one immediately. This thing is a beast coming from a 2080ti, running it on a 4 year old b450 tomahawk non max with a 5800x3d and it's pretty much silent, zero coil whine, frame generation seems really good I just tested it in portal rtx and the input lag whilst being noticeable was absolutely fine. Just testing more games now, put off playing dying light 2 as I wanted to run it maxed and that's certainly no problem for it

Just need an ultrawide oled now and i'm set for a few years

Everyone should buy a 4090 just to prove how decadent the west is.

What are people allowed to spend their money on?

I'm not well off enough to spend £1600 on a graphics card. But many people are have nothing better to spend disposable income on. How much are holidays these days that last a couple of weeks, decadence.

Hmm is this a riddle?
What would people's money want to be spent on?

Stuff they enjoy. Is that decadence? People spend a lot more money on other things. I wouldn't call it decadence.

Unfortunately nvidia have a monopoly on the absolute best performance by quite far.

Well it's as near as I can get to decadence so let me enjoy it please.

If thats what you feel then, im not gonna dispute that. Feeling decadent is normally a negative thing. If you are happy with your purchase then I think you should consider it money well spent.

My 3070 is not ok for my needs and its really bugging me! I bought it at the time when 3080's were no existant and my old 2060 went bust so needed a card. The Vram is too small for playing Vr flight sims and 3 screen 1440p sim racing...

But do I want to spend that much on a card? uggghhhh 2022 sucks!!

Pick up a used 3080 for around £450-500?

Sounds like the aw3423dw/f is the monitor for you
Funny you should say that I was very close to pulling the trigger on the new aw3423dwf but i read on reddit that "tonemapping over 500nits only works on amd cards" but at least that one is firmware upgradeable unlike the older dw which i'm not considering due to it having two fans vs one on the dwf, so just gonna wait to see if it's fixed on a newer firmware

It's the same resolution as one of my screens now though (3440 x 1440) tested a load of games last night at that res and 4k, at that res wow everything is just limited by my rivatuner 141 global fps limit and certainly not hampered by my 5800x3d, getting roughly 2-3 times the performance of my old 2080ti and i've yet to hear the fans ramp up on it at all, in less demanding stuff like apex legends it was running at 35c-40c lol, loving it

Still not as good a purchase as the steam deck though
