NVIDIA 4000 Series

What are you on about?

If we use other cards as a benchmark, its surprising a 70 class GPU is only slightly behind a 900 class GPU? Was that the case last gen?

AMD provided no competition this generation. Why are people surprised at the pricing.

Last gen the 6700 XT was competitive against the 3070.

I would do exactly what nvidia have done.

3070 vs 2080ti.

The only saving grace for those who are buying the 7900xt(x), 4070ti, 4080, 4090.... is that they aren't getting bent over and railed as hard as those who spent £1400+ for a 3090 for that sweet 10-15% performance boost, if that...

They will be either trying to take solace from the hope that some paid that much for 3080 or they don't actually care what other people buy. :p

Haha yup funny thing is a good chunk of people were happy to pay scalpers/etailers 1-2+k for 3080/3090/6800xt/6900xt 1-2 years ago there but now that Nvidia/amd are doing it, the outrage!

I think there was also a massive boom in gaming during covid. People likely built/refreshed their rigs while sat at home all the time…

I mean I previously would only upgrade every few years at the earliest…assuming many are the same or less frequent… so perhaps just no immediate demand??

Starting to think Nvidia wants rid of the whole discrete GPU industry so they can stick everything into their cloud gaming service which they control nigh completely.
