NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

Oh god not this again. It'll make virtually no difference at all.

Err no, the reviews are the same time as the launch?

We don't yet know the time of the embargo, but even if the pre orders and reviews go live at the same time to within 1 second, by the time you've finished watching one review, the cards are sold out, creating fomo
To buy the card without reviews ouch

Same price as the 5080 and only marginally slower.
Still slower though. And has less advanced AI features. If you include "fake" frames in that then it's actually a massive upgrade.

It's all relative I guess as it's a great upgrade from my 3090. I just think upgrading every refresh is pointless and if I had a 4090 I wouldn't even be considering it, seems pointless.

Why is it hiliarious? I will be upgrading to a 5090 from 4080. People have a right to spend there casjh on what ever they want and should not be rediculed for it whether you wear Red, green or blue
Tbh I want to just go what the hell and just buy the best on offer. At the end of the day though I just wouldn't appreciate it enough and don't care about others who have something better lol. £2000 is too much money, heck even £1000 is too much just to play a few games.

5080 review embargo on launch day isn't good, the last product we got with the review embargo on launch day was the intel core 285k and we all know how that went down.
Totally agree!

It seems the problem was meant to be a Bios issue for the 5080 that was supplied late to AIB's if true, the release date for the 5080 was the 21st then the 5090 on the 30th.

By the looks of it there seems to be no NDA on AIB’s if true, so all reviews should be done before the 30th , so we all can get to see if the FE model cooler is really up to the task.

Last time I tried to get a GPU at launch was the 3000 series. I didn't get hold of one for over a year (never managed to get an order in, then the prices went mental, then I succumbed).

This can't possibly be as bad as that.

Embargos for reviews to come out almost the same time they envisage them being sold out is some very shady business.
Yes people will FOMO, but it's so so shady.

I only have a 3090, but I'm just going to wait.
The 350 games I still haven't got around to from my Steam Dusty Shelf will still all play at Max settings (or most will), not like they have gone out of date all of a sudden.

£2-£2.5k extra to pay out to get a better Future mark score or a larger fps in top corner, that you don't Really feel whilst gaming. Yes the grass may look slightly more realistic or side by side pics online they look slightly better when looking. However in real time gaming, do we really notice.

Tricking us with embargos and tricking us with Fake Frame A.I. and we lap it up.
I think it's most sensible to skip every other generation as the money of the top cards is now absurd.

......Saying all that...I will prob still read another 6k posts on here and still be considering ignoring my sensible self above......hmmmmm so 5080, used 4090 or sell the wife for a 5090??

RTX 6090 will be out by the time it comes out on Pc the same as GTA 6.

Yep it common for people to buy today's hardware while waiting for future games. Games especially these days come out later than you expect and face delays. If you're wanting a GPU upgrade to play GTA6 and Witcher 4, then wait for the RTX6090 because the 5090 will be old by the time those games actually come out

Nothing will be as bad as that, right kids? Right....? I suppose a bit of an unknown is how big AI demand is for the 5090. Conversely, reports indicate the chip has been manufactured (not sure on what scale) since September. So hopefully support is reasonable.

It won’t be, the market was totally different. I don’t think there will be a stock problem with the 5000 cards.
They will probably sell out initially but there will be plenty of stock afterwards.

At launch prices the 3000 series were genuinely good value for money, but that all went pear shaped very quickly.

Jensen is right about one thing, people putting 4090/5090s into their 10k home theatre setups. I just did a quick count of what I've got and my PC plus monitors and screens, plus sound system, plus lighting and furniture, plus networking and cables, plus peripherals etc in my room comes to 15k pounds
