Press X to doubt on waterblocks.
It would require either having to design two new PCBs in different shapes for your block and hoping the GPU firmware doesn't reject the after market PCBs, or having to design a block that fits around Nvidia's PCBs which would be extremely expensive and requiring new tooling to be built
Both of those options are really expensive - you're either shipping parts and tools so the customer can modify their FE card to fit in a conventional water block, or you're making a block that fits around the FE's vertical and horizontal PCBs, which would be a very thick block by the way. Both options are complicated and expensive, who's going to buy it
Ah a post from 15 months ago that was being disengenous even thenNvidia’s FG = 5x performance but AMDs FG = no extra performance
The thing is that people probably didn’t watch the AMD video after reading the title.Ah a post from 15 months ago that was being disengenous even then
Yea true trueI'm about 15k as well.
Of course not, plus FSR3 frame gen launched with more issues than DLSS3, such as inconsistent frame times. You are never going to get as much of a warm reception when you are the second to introduce a technology, especially if it is flawed and takes several updates to fix (classic AMD btw). The thing is that people probably didn’t watch the AMD video after reading the title.
I hope that the day earlier 5080 reviews rumour is true, as I'm pretty certain I'm going to be hunting a FE model on the 30th. I'd prefer it if they'd move all those dates a day ahead, so that I could spend the 29th exploring options including AIB premium models.Videocardz now reporting 5080 MSRP model reviews will be out the day before (29th Jan). Odd limiting it to MSRP cards vs FE as in previous years.
It wasn't in the title, it was in the description - A lot of people tend to ignore that. The thing is that people probably didn’t watch the AMD video after reading the title.
My gf and I both work in games . This tech is real cool. Will be a fair while before much of it materialises in a AAA title though. Looking forward to the day I don't have to re-topo meshesThanks for sharing this! Cheered me up. Yes, i'm that sad about video game technology.
if your getting a 5080 compared to the 4090 you have now then yes, its 100% not an upgrade, not a side grade but a downgrade, 4090 is still a beast, even when compared to a 5090Ever since seeing the Colorful iGame Neptune I started getting ideas..
Whip the radiator off, remove it's internal pump and figure away to plumb it in to my SFF build, cause that is one nice looking graphics card. But alas, it's coming in 5080 form only so I imagine it would be a downgrade to my 4090.
I like the look of the asus matrix but won't be paying 3k for one.if your getting a 5080 compared to the 4090 you have now then yes, its 100% not an upgrade, not a side grade but a downgrade, 4090 is still a beast, even when compared to a 5090
I wonder how many they sold. It came c.1 year after the 4090 release, no to mention the bonkers price.I like the look of the asus matrix but won't be paying 3k for one.
The GPU world is a weird one especially when ppl have the spare cash to spend on ridiculous models.I like the look of the asus matrix but won't be paying 3k for one.
5090 says hold my beerThe GPU world is a weird one especially when ppl have the spare cash to spend on ridiculous models.
ROG 4090 Matrix Platinum was like £2900 on their website and resellers were flogging them for £3300, just becuase it had a built in AIO cooler, then you had the 4090 Strix models which had a evangelion skin or decal on it and immediately sellers wacked on a 1200 quid mark up, and ppl were buying them for 3500+ quid!!
So the 4090 that has a AIO water cooler models, I'm not sure what they will RRP for but I'm thinking will might be more that the last gen.
I’m guessing those with a reference PCB will be the easiest to find a waterblock for. I think INNO3D showed a render of the reference PCB, so they must be using it in a few cards at least.Of the cards shown so far which version are people thinking of getting to put a waterblock on for the RTX 5090? I feel like we haven't seen all the models yet, although I haven't seen any new ones added in a while! Thinking of the Asus Tuf as it stands, but I had good luck with Palit in the past (not on website yet.)
