NVIDIA 780 Ti Announced (18/10/13)

NVIDIA has announced the GeForce GTX 780 Ti….the fastest graphics card they’ve ever produced.
Today in Montreal, NVIDIA announced they will be releasing the GTX 780 Ti in mid-November (it will be a hard launch).

Waits in MM to pickup a couple of titans for £300ea after the r290x & GTX 780ti been released....:p

Is that what they actually said "the fastest graphics card they have ever produced" if so then it must be faster than the 690 as well or did he say fastest graphics chip?

They certainly did say that.....I am still going with the meaning of Single GPU though but....It doesn't take much for me to OC my Titan past a stock 690.

I can't handle 60 Hz in games where it makes a difference so I've got 120 Hz for FPS and 1440p for everything else. In games like Bioshock and Tomb Raider 120 Hz makes little difference (although still some) whereas the increase in IQ from the resolution bump is nice.

Sounds like you and I are in similar boats.

The MSI R9 280X cards at £230 each make financial, and performance sense when Crossfired. However, I am loathed to buy cards that are 2 years old, as illogical as that may seem.

I need a card that performs really well at 1440p, which the MSI GTX 780 Lighting does, as shown by [H]ardOCP. But now that the 780ti has been announced, and with the 290x on the horizon, there's never been a more difficult time to buy (for me)!

I'm holding out in hope that 2 x 290s (non-X) may be the best bang for the buck.

We are indeed! Friday is my deadline I think, once the 290X reviews are out I'll make my decision, I don't think I can wait another 2 weeks after that without my PC. On a plus I found somewhere else selling Classifieds cheaper than the 'special' price today so that is always an option still :)

Re input lag on 1440p monitor, I think I'm lucky as I don't notice it but then I don't play many FPS and I understand this is where you mainly feel it?

That is an absolutely cracking card for the price. If i was picking between any 7950/70/280X now this would be my first choice based on the low price of £230.

Whyscotty and many others can no doubt explain the quality of the MSI Lightning cards.

I'm also waiting very (im)patiently for Friday :) I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks on Friday, so realistically I still have at least 3 weeks until I can buy something. Unless of course OCUK do some mental specials on the current cards this week...

Trust me, it's very tempting! If the Gold reward was still included, I'd be very inclined to order 2 of them today.

Those 280x are not far off the 780 really. I think 2 could be awesome and it's not an option that I was previously considering. I think 780 SLI would be overkill but one isnt enough, so this might be the sweet spot.

Thats the equivalent of a regular twin frozr card not lightning.

You don't want a 280x lightning as it will still come with those bloody single link dvi ports littered on the 7970 lightning pcb.

Hot off the press Mr PG Tips

MSI has gone with its own design for the card's outputs, with the standard combination replaced with two mini-DisplayPorts, a dual-link DVI-I and an HDMI connection.

Yep, Dual link was never an issue with regular TF OC cards, was just the Lightning that MSI randomly decided to plop a pair of single link slots and 4 MDP on.

The PCB in that picture, matt you'll be glad to know looks exactly like the one found on the 7970 OC that we all know and love, darkish brown, only this time they've filled in the blank VRM bank :)

I wanted to order a 290X but the 780Ti looks very interesting, it sucks that I have to wait for at least another month to decide :(

Are there any news regarding non-reference Ti's? Will they be released mid November too?
