I did not state the 290X was a dud, I said the launch (what little we know thus far) has been tarnished. And it has, anyone denying that is fooling themselves. There are no 2 ways about it, this news will make some people think twice about a 290X now, and if that is not tarnish then I don't know what is.

Who is saying you are not allowed to hype the GTX780Ti? I'm replying to your ridiculous point that the 780Ti announcement somehow steals all the Thunder from the upcoming R9 290X.

It certainly reduces the impact but it doesn't steal all the thunder.

Forums aren't for you, something wrong with your short term memory, you keep blaming posters for things they didn't post.

I didn't make any point that 780ti steals thunder, that was Stulid if I recall correctly.

The sensible people are those with no affiliation to either brand which 90% of the people here are.

People will go for what is best for the best price they can afford. No one cares what brand it is NVidia or AMD, Intel or AMD.

All we really care about is getting value for money and features we are prepared to pay for.

So my brand, the one I will buy, is the one I want at the time I want it with the features I want.

Too bad any of the new GPU's is gonna cost too much for me.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say anyone that is heavily into Battlefield 4. It seems like there are those who are sweeping Mantle underneath the rug. Now, it could be true that AMD is just blowing smoke about how good it is, or it could be Mantle will be everything it is rumored to be. Frankly I am of the mind that it's going to be real good, and if so then those who are deeply involved in Battlefield 4 (not my kind of game, but am looking forward to Dragon Age III which is also Mantle) would be making a poor choice by not going with a 290X.
 
There will always be faster cards on the horizon. I'm certain that if leaks show the 780ti to be a lot faster then the 290X it won't be long before we hear rumours of a possible AMD response. Will everybody planning on buying a 780ti decide to wait also ? :rolleyes:

I don't know about you guys but i actually play games not wait around forever thinking about it :p

It's heavily AMD biased here, it's ok to hype up AMD releases but if you do the same to an Nvidia release, you become a 'fanboy' or 'it's sad to like a brand'. Like all of sudden it's now serious because the beloved AMD isn't being praised. The ironic thing is, these same people don't realize they do it all. I started getting behind Nvidia when the AMD GPU hype train left the station, it was funny to me :). Now the train has been derailed people are getting upset.

Oh well don't let it bother you, I'm looking forward to the 780ti, AMD botched their release imho, Nvidia shouldn't of had this chance to (As someone else put) steal AMD's thunder but they allowed it to happen. How much is the 290X? When it is available? See the problem.. AMD brought it on themselves.

Remember Charlie (Semi accurate) saying Nvidia had no answer until Q4 2014...

Their will be a lot of upset on here now..

Just reading on the Nvidia site that they will be available as a DIY kit as well (the cheaper option) and neither you or me are afraid to get our hands dirty :)
 
The 290 290x 780/ti Titan will be within a whisker of each other, key thing here is PRICING.

I see this as a good thing for customers and might jig AMD into releasing a cheaper card (which is why they might not have confirmed the price)
