NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I've just had Discord open this afternoon whilst doing bits & bobs... There has been a lot of 3070/3090 drops today with a few 3080 and 6900XT drops in between.
Each time the stock was there for 10 mins or so, the 6900XTs stayed in stock for over 20 mins.

Some of the prices were higher than expected (still less than OCUK though) but others were pretty close to RRP. I could have easily grabbed a few of each of the cards. It's not hard to get a card, you just need to have one of the alerts setup and be near your PC. You can be getting on with other things and just have Discord in the background

Hmm not so sure, I'm in plenty discord groups and most of the links were for a place that didn't deliver and required collection. Barely any had a collection point either

I can see a PNY 3080 in stock still even now, been in stock for over an hour & a half.
It's £900 though so I can see why it's not selling fast... It's really poor that stores are scalping as badly as the eBay scalpers

Load of 3070 cards as well, msi suprim, kfa2 and msi gaming x trio. All £600 plus.

Much less? I reckon £1000 minimum but more likely £1100-£1200. Would you buy A Ti/Super for £1000?

Just interested.
30-50% less can be considered "much less" for what is essentially the same level of gaming performance. I think clearly anyone who says that they want 3090-level performance at a cheaper price would buy a Ti rather than a 3090.

So £700-£980 for a Ti FE? From the 3080 that would make the extra 10GB of DDR6X be £50 more @ 50%. 3080Ti a maximum of 30% cheaper.

Your 2nd sentence - obviously.

It's been rumoured for a while that the 3080Ti price point is predicted to be $999 / £1000. So it comes inbetween-ish the 3080 and 3090.

Predictions and rumours on OCUK? Of course it's going to come somewhere between the 3080 and 3090. It aint gonna be 50% of a 3090 though, the 3080 is 54% of the 3090 for 85% of the performance.

Correct, and with scarcity/demand the cheap ones will be hard to snap up - leaving the AIB £1k+ models for the "wow this is such good value" crowd! ;)

Sorry but you are writing in a bit of confusing way, it's hard to get what you mean. I am talking about the rumour articles on the sites like Videocardz... have you not read a single one yet in the few weeks they have been reporting the 3080Ti rumours? Obviously sites like that are where we get our info from as there is nothing official yet. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Graphics Card | VideoCardz.com and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti | VideoCardz.net

I wrote 30-50% lower in price than the 3090 to reflect a likely range... obviously we don't know exactly how much it will be yet.

Ah read it a bit wrong. You'll even get people upgrading to them from a 3080.

I think you're right, as there will be many unaware on the 3080ti release (One of my freinds bought a 2070 SUper for £600 a week before the 3080's dropped ) I reckon I'd be able to sell my 3080 for £850 (what I paid) on the auction site and spend £150 to £250 to upgrade to the 3080ti.

Though if the 3080's were scalped then the 3080ti.....................well unless retailers combat buyers with bots then I hope there is a large supply. Here's hoping.

Yes I have read them, hence why I couldn't deduce how you'd got up to 50% from the rumours that we've all read. Post #24229 I stated £1000 minimum in alignment with the rumours. But I reckon they'll be more.

I was just using logic around your hopeful 50% less than a 3090.

I cant see the Ti being up to 50% cheaper than a 3090. No chance.

It would make a good poll - What will you pay for a 3080ti
